I am due my phone upgrade - I have had a Blackberry for the past 2 years and I hate it! Had endless problems with it, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt, so looking for a change but looking for some feedback on what to get.
I know its prob been covered several times already but would welcome some advice.
Thanks in advance.

Indeed....I know its prob been covered several times already...
E.g.
What phone would you buy? Android, iPhone, Windows Phone, Blackberry
Galaxy S3 or phone5?
Samsung s3 or Iphone 4-5 ?
You will find much more if you just search.
That said, there are cheaper iPhones than 4-5 and cheaper Samsungs than S3, let alone countless other android phones.0 -
Uh-Oh! Not this [STRIKE]argument[/STRIKE] discussion again.
It'll end in tears, you mark my words!0 -
I've had a few iPhones and upon seeing the iPhone 5, decided to switch to the Galaxy S3... what I'd say is it's a great phone, and the Nexus 4 could be even better, certainly it's amazing value, but if you enjoy gaming I'd go with the iPhone.0

What I'd recommend is going to a phone shop and testing both out, see which one you like.
There will be a massive 50/50 split between iPhone and Samsung if this thread continues, then the bickering will start and you'll be even more confused than when you started.
I've had an iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS, I've currently got the Samsung Galaxy S2 (personal phone) and the S3 (work phone). I prefer the Samsungs.0 -
Personally, I have found that the Apple Store tends to have more (in terms of quality) in it than the Google Play Store for Android.
They seem to have monopolised the major apps developers into releasing apps for the iPhone sometimes months before an equivalent comes out on Android (if at all).
This is despite there being ten times as many users on Android, therefore cutting most of their marketbase out...
I also find the iPhone screen to be a touch more responsive (it has a slightly better feel to it).
Aside from that, the s3 beats the iPhone hands down on everything else.
When you consider the difference in price (if you're taking out a contract) can easily be £300 over the duration, then I would say that the Galaxy S3 offers much better value for money.
Then you have the S2, which I have been perfectly happy about as my main phone for months now. you can pick them up dirt cheap now and it does everything alsmost as well as the S3, and it is thinner, lighter and will do probably everything you are looking for and more.0 -
So does S3, S2, Xperia T and many other androids:... i personally think the camera is better than any android...The Iphone 5 has 1080p camera for video recording

Sony phones are famous for their quality cameras. So are Nokias, but they are not androids.0 -
As others have said, go to a shop and play around with them and see which you think is best. They will both allow you to do the same sort of things. Perhaps the iPhone will be easier to use and have more good quality apps, but there are lots of good apps for Android too. There are also some interesting features on the Samsung Galaxy SIII that aren't on other phones (iPhone or Android), such as the ability to watch videos while you write messages and emails. Samsung phones can be quite big though, which might be an issue for you.0

36.9% of smartphone users own an Android handset, while 28.5% own an iPhone. Considering there are a lot more android phones on the market thats not much of a difference. I think Android phones are a bit cheap looking and people seem to have more problems with them. What can you do on an android which you cant on an Iphone? Dont talk to me about Flash player either!! Its such an old technology its only still around because companies wont update there websites!
In the U.S., Apple handsets outsold Android among consumers, with a 48.4 per cent share compared with 42.8 per cent, the company said.
It is reported today that 75% of handsets sold are android, we are in the UK, Apple say there was no problem with the reception on the ip4, but I agree the OP should look at both devices, as for what you can do on other handsets but not others? FM radio  plus live widgets.0 -

75% thats rubbish! Iphone is mainly apples entire profit! they sold 5 million world wide in 3 days!! At least they own the tablet world that new surface is rubbish! Its slow, heavy and awkward to hold! It could barely run a game called cut the rope which runs on my Iphone fine! They dont seem to have got the point of a tablet as want a keyboard with it and make it stand on a desk! They recently did a survey and most people said they had no interest in one! Anyway sorry of the subject

One of many articles , I agree apple sell the majority of their devices near launch, as for the surface tablet? I may purchase on myself yet :cool:0
