I hope he doesn't mind me linking to it.

Actually, have removed as I haven't asked.

Feedback won't show that it hasn't been criminal or fraudulent, though, will it?

True and it may be down to non related Ebay transactions.
From the outside the Ebay business looked sound but has been affected big style.

Looks like it started with a failed DD, and transfers between two paypal accounts to withdraw money. Nothing dodgy.

I can't do any work today, this has really freaked me out, lots of people looked up to him as a good, established seller doing a great job.

Strapped can you PM me the Facebook link?

Terra firma I feel like that too. At the end of the day, I need eBay a million times more than they need me so if it happened to him, it could easily happen to any of us.

Paypal class this as money laundering, I had my paypal account closed for money laundering in 2008. I only sent money to my husbands paypal.
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

well there is actually more to it, nothing to justify the action Paypal took, the guy is not a crook, but he mentioned something about a credit check
..I've activated my amazon account, and will be opening another website soon, eggs and basket...

I think the difference between this and other cases of people being booted is that guy took care of his customers.

Most of those people so transparently don't do that it doesn't look as unfair as this particular case.

I doubt it will happen to others who keep their own noses clean.

He did say on Seller Central he took responsibility for what happened, it was a mistake he made himself and the buck stopped with him. That's what IMO sets him apart from most of the people being cleaned out. It's sad in his case because he is an intelligent and conscientious seller BUT the majority of the people being banned seem straight-up lazy/indifferent/don't understand the process of selling. This is not an issue with his DSRs and customer satisfaction and so on that people fall foul of. In some ways I wish eBay were much tighter - eBay is such a flipping minefield in many categories that they have to be strict and are sometimes not strict enough.

I hope he sorts it out - but I don't think it necessarily proves anyone can get banned as such - just that you have to be very careful what you do and what looks suspicious to outsiders.

I always use my credit card to pay on paypal. But the default paypal setting is bank account first - then card.

On one occasion i forgot to change it - the bank declined it. I had plenty money in the bank - but they said they don't let paypal dip into peoples accounts.

Paypals response was to remove my bank account AND tell me i can't use that one again.

So instead of withdrawing to me perfectly good bank account - i sent it to my friends to withdraw.

In the eyes of paypal i'm a crook - in the real world - their systems messed up. There was no reason to remove my bank account.

Sounds like sames happened to this guy - only i wasn't thrown off.

Its the same as a bank throwing you out because there was an error with your direct debits. Paypal and Ebay are nut-jobs - simple.

Its not about keeping your nose clean - anyone can be suspended /thrown off.

Paypal is supposed to be a convenient way to send money to freinds and family too. I would not dare send money this way - in case the person i send to as a bad account - and they decide to link you. I darent let people log onto ebay or paypal in my house too. It a crazy state of affairs.
