Paypal closes account of well known powerseller with excellent stats...

I've been following the thread on the PS board, and lots of sellers are in shock about this.
The seller is a prolific poster, well known on the PS board, and with a reputation of being a good seller. He is a top rated seller with 45k 100% pos feedback and very high stars.

Nothing Ebay/paypal does surprises me. The usual suspects will say paypal did right. The rest of us know its a lottery wether your next.

Hope someone manages to sue ebay/paypal for loss of earnings :D

Have just read some of the comments.
A lesson for us all to keep a close eye on our accounts.
A much bigger player than myself, hope they can work it out with Paypal.

Paypal thinks there has been criminal and fraudulent activity on thier account and have restricted and pulled all their Ebay listings.
They have sold 800+ items this month alone, no neautral or negs.
Their Ebay business looks perfect, but Paypal have decided to shut the business down for an unknown reason and he is very worried about his customers.

Shows how a possible Paypal account problem can close down an Ebay business in a few hours.

In cases like these I'd normally take the seller's claims with a pinch of salt, but this seller is well known, and I would tend to believe his version of events.
I'm sure that in the eyes of paypal there is some perfectly logical explanation, but if as a business you don't know it, and even worse don't know what to do to avoid this happening to you, it's a real problem.

I'm glad that I've just been approved by Amazon, and I'm also looking into getting back on google shopping, ebay is just too risky. Happy to take my money, but very unprofessional in the way they behave.

I must say these cases are exceptionally rare, in most cases sellers where the issue is with ebay and seller performance, sellers had every chance of improving their DSR etc..., but the very fact that this scenario can occur is enough to make me worry.

    He says:
Let me just emphasise this, I know what this about and I do not blame ebay or paypal, ( well I do in some respects, but not in the ebay have ruined my business sort of way) I have always accepted responsibilities for my own actions and will do so in this matter.

So there is obviously more than meets the eye.

Makes you think though! * getting on with own website *

I saw this last night and replied to the thread as I am a PS. Very shocking.

Shows how quickly it can go badly wrong.

Feedback won't show that it hasn't been criminal or fraudulent, though, will it?

Looks like it may have been a glitch with his bank accounts?

I hope he survives this. I have done business with him in the past.
