Anyway, I can't remember where it is but someone posted about making up a dumpling mix (possibly add a little sugar) and then sit them in some jam or syrup and cook them in the microwave on high for three minutes.
Whoever it was - I hate you!
How to make a delicious and FATTENING pud in five minutes flat! Sheesh! It's too darn easy and too darn tempting!
But so-o-o-o-o nice
Got my Be-ro cook book and it tells you to do that in there.

I can't find that. Mine says about doing them in boiling water for twenty minutes and then serving with syrup but doesn't say you can do them in just three minutes. I don't think I would have ever bothered making them if it wasn't for the microwave tip.
Mind you, the whole book should come with a large sign on the front cover.

Wow this thread is just soo good - I did fish in my sc for the first time last night - even OH ate it. Just wondering-are the recipes collected anywhere or is it just a case of trawling through the whole thread. Am even going to get my second smaller one dusted off from the loft. Thanks for the inspiration:T0

Sarahsaver wrote:I am testing out a dish today in the slow cooker, inspired by a Nigella Lawson one, except she did hers in the oven. I have put olive oil in the base to cover the bottom, put 3 largish spuds sliced layered on top with a large sliced onion and 2 chopped cloves of garlic, and put chicken breasts on the top coated with a little more olive oil, pepper, sea salt and oregano. I am not going to take the lid off all day - discipline required here, but i do have a glass lid so i can keep an eye on it! And it's on low. I know theres not much liquid but there should be just enough in the spuds and chicken to keep it tender.
Sarah, this dish sounded yum, how did it turn out?? What the minimum liquid ok or did it get burnt?
Thanks for the idea.0 -
i got a crock pot for christmas! have done a casserole already! some great ideas here but a quick question - some of the posts say add yoghurt or cream at the end to thicken but every time i have tried that in the past i.e making my own curries - it always curdles and i have to throw the whole lot away!#113 12K in 2020 Challenge #113 £17,103/£12,000 £150000
