well I chanced it and made nigellas caramel croissant pudding in the SC and it turned out just fine:j my oven has been broken since boxing day hence why I am having to SC everything at the moment. I followed the recipe exactly but instead of putting in an ovenproof dish in the oven I greased the SC and put it in there on high for 2 and half hours;)0

Sounds yummy am going to google recipe now. I love that type of pudd!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
I've FINALLY got my slow cooker from a very lovely Freecycler, so this thread will be very useful, thanks everyone.:hello:

yep thats the one - I usually double up when I am doing it in the oven and yesterday instead of croissants I used a small pannatone pudding that I got reduced to 25p! very nice. Previously have used a drop of grand marnier, and even brandy when I have had no whiskey to add;), didnt add any booze yesterday as am pregnant and it is still gorgeous:D0 -
I'll add this to the SC recipe thread so that it can easily be found in future

Well I got bought a slow cooker for xmas and have had a few experiments since then (getting on OK!!) - so i thought I would share a recipe I did last night (which was particularly scrummy!)
Sausages in an onion gravy:
Brown Sausages - into slow cooker
Fry onions until soft, add Muscovado sugar and cook for 5 mins until caramalized. Add a couple of tablespoons of plain flour, then stock. allow to thicken slightly then add to SC. Ready when you are. Serve with mash/ veg.
And whilst I;m here, does anyone have a recipe for meatballs? I saw them mentioned on a previous page, but no recipe?Thank you to all the compers!0
