Slow Cooker - The Recipe Collection

Hi chocolate orange
I raided the slow cooker books at the library and just photocopied the ones I liked the sound of. I can't justify buying any more cook books - I have far too many!!!
Also I often just use recipes from standard cookery books and adjust the time.0 -
polynesian pork
8 pork chops
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of rosemary(dried)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup honey
combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover, cook on high for 5-6 hours
Excuse my ignorance (I've only done a few dishes with the slow cooker), but does this recipe require water as well, or will the ingredients mentioned above be enough???
EDIT: Original post can be found here:

Picked up a veggie slow cooker recipe book at the library. I am not veggie, but do like a meat free meal every now and then.
But this book is also good for reference. It says, that any recipe can me adjusted for the slow cooker and also converts the times. Eg
usually needs cooking for 1-3 hours, slow cooker on high in.... on low in .....
sorry, haven't got hte book here right now. Will update all the times when I find it again!I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -

hi everyone, i just got a slow cooker the other day. yesterday i made a sausage casserole which was yummy but ive had to take most of the liquid left out separetly as thre is far too much. so now i have almost 2 liters of gravey?.
can i freeze this and use it for stock or soup or something?
if i freeze it into ice cubes will one cube be enough stock everytime or would i need more?
im planning on making an irish stew tomorrow, any tips?0 -
Hiya,
I don't think an ice cube's worth would make any noticeable difference as a "stock cube".
You can use it as it is as a base for a soup or stew (depending on just what you're making - it may not go too well with fish) and leave out the herbs or flavourings if you're adapting an existing recipe because they're already there.
Alternatively you can thicken it a little (with cornflour) or gently simmer it until it reduces and thickens and just use it as a straight forward gravy with a suitable meal.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
