  • When I was looking at these recipes a few weeks ago I found a way of viewing them in categories; chicken recipes, lamb recipes etc. Can't do that now - has something changed does anyone know?

I have a jar of asda green curry paste ( fry of meat/veg add paste fry for a few more minutes then add can coconut milk) I want to do this in my slow cooker but I know you should not slow cook milk. I am looking for a recipe for parsnip and leek soup for the slow cooker. Any ideas on how I do this? Want to make a huge batch and freeze it for work.

    Many thanks

So, Im trying my own recipe in the slow cooker, and I wondered what you think -

    2 onions - chopped
    3 cloves garlic - chopped
    lots parsnips - diced
    potatoes - diced
3 vegetable stock cubes - dissolved in hot water
    salt and pepper to taste

Fry off onions and garlic until soft. Put into slow cooker
Add parsnips, potatoes, salt and pepper.
    pour in vegetable stock
Turn SC to high (or low if cooking all day)
    Blitz when ready

Its in the SC now, thought it might be a bit bland so I have also added couple heaped teaspoons horseradish sauce. Smelling and looking good.

Anyone think I should add something more (prefer to leave this soup veggie)?

Yes mixed herbs and bay leaves. In a soup I sometimes add red lentils for texture/colour and to thicken.

Just tasted the soup and it is yummy!!

Have mased it with potato masher and am no letting it cool before portioning it up ready to go into the freezer.

Could really get used to this cooking lark. :D
