Car insurance for 17 year old

When I was young, a 900cc fiesta was £1900 to insure, and the car was about £80.
Instead, I bought my Mom a nice 900cc Fiesta as I was just really nice. In return she added me onto her insurance policy so I could use it sometimes when visiting friends in the next town driving only during the day, or occasionally just sitting in it, wondering what it would be like to be a real boy!
I think she paid roughly around £522.80 for her insurance - which I also bought for her as I'm just nice like that!0 -
I strongly suggest that after reading the previous two posts, the OP should see this;

Also I have been told that even when the child is genuinely only using th car occasionally the insurance company price the policy as if they are the main driver.I strongly suggest that after reading the previous two posts, the OP should see this;

Maybe I got the course name wrong, not advanced driving.
A few of the insurance companies we spoke to asked about this as it can help reduce the price. I know it included motorway driving.
I'm guessing people think £1,700 is steep for the Corsa?!
I didn't think it was too bad as it had low mileage and is in good condition!
She is going with Diamond. Got it for £1,550 so a little less than we originally found.

If it is a top of the range model (which I doubt) then yes that would be about top whack.daisyboyd24 wrote: »She is going with Diamond. Got it for £1,550 so a little less than we originally found.

Even better... I wish I could of found a quote for my 18 year old son for that! But be warned, It will all change soon. As previously mentioned it's cheaper because she is female. There are new rules coming in saying that premiums must be the same for both sex's. Do you honestly think that premiums will reduce for males? No, premiums will rise for females to catch up!PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

You mean Pass Plus.
Low mileage isn't necessarily a good thing. It implies short, low speed journeys which wear the engine more than motorway mileage. Has it been serviced as per the manufacturer's timings?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
