As already said, that quote you already have seems cheap so go for it, I take it it's a quote in her name and not yours with her as a named driver.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Like all above i think thats a great quote you've gotten there. There are people in much terrible worse situations, its a shame.Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0

What? Are you saying a Corsa will do more damage that a similar sized car? Where do you get that from? Never heard of that before!
.
Yes, if they are more likely to be driven by boy racers. Hence they are a higher risk and the insurance company will have to pay for whatever they drive into. Insurance is based on many things, the cars repair cost grouping, postcode, age of driver, experience but also the insurance companies own data on how likely the car is to be involved in a crash. A 1.2 litre Corsa is more likely to be driven by a boy racer than a 1.2 Susuki Wagon R+0 -
Im sorry but the insurance company know how powerful that model of car is! Example - A Mitsubishi Evo is a 2000cc lump and the top of the range one is nearly 400bhp. They dont go oh its just a 2 litre thats ok. You could have a 3.2 litre golf R32 which is cheaper for me to insure than a 2000cc Audi S3 because it has more power. So engine size is only asked so they know what model you have.
Earlier you said that CC has nothing to do with it. I was merely pointing out that I think it does. I have never been asked what BHP a car has, but i'm always asked the CC.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Sorry, I misunderstood. I read it that you were saying a Corsa is more likely to cause damage to someone's property than another car. I agree it is the type of driver but there are quite a few more similar cars out there which are quicker than a Corsa.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. i bet a vw beetle will be cheaper, corsa 1.2 is a common 17 year old car and is statistically higher risk, bu 1800 doesn't sound too bad. I she was a he, it could be 1 grand more expensive.
get her to practice driving a lot, go out driving at night to get experience and build her driving skill. she needs to avoid getting into an accident, a no claims will be very useful. otherwise next year could be worse if she has no noclaims and an accident on her record.0 -
Good tips LondonTiger.
She is quite sensible so I hope she will be ok.
We've suggested she goes on an advanced driving course so hopefully that will increase her skills!
Thanks again for your advice.

I don't think advanced driving is a good idea for a new driver. She'll need a fair bit of normal driving experience before being ready for that.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Is cheap given her age. Why do you think there are so many uninsured people on the road?0
