Working all day so it's another NSD for me

The way I look at it is if your working then your earning and because your working you not spending
Debt free at last!!:rotfl:0 -
Afternoon all

I almost managed an NSD yesterday, but friend and I went for coffee and he's bought them the last few times, so it was definitely my turn. However, my coffee was disgusting, so they replaced it FOC and gave me a voucher for next time, which I'll use thursday when i go with the girls!
Today I have started the job of sorting out my drawers at work - I have a LOT of stuff (9 years worth!).
Today I have/will:
- food from stores
- write down any spending (though hoping for NSD! i do have a coffee, but I'm giving a crochet lesson, so there may be a chance she'll buy!)
- NSD or LSD
- hit my target on swagbucks for the day (I shall request some gift cards soon)
-get on the bike tonight, must do some exercise
- look for jobs
- look for freebies and enter comps
- update spreadsheet and start thinking about my post redundancy budget
- carry on sorting out my stuff
- find a craft to use old business cards
- clicks and searches
Have a lovely afternoon one and all, lots of love

Hi everyone,
Thanks for starting us off DNMS.
Stitchy - Just make use of free internet, heating etc & relax for that extra hour
Congratulations on the bonus! Will you put it straight towards debt or treat yourself?
RFTA - I've got my fingers crossed for you, I am very lucky that my Dad has been fixing boilers for years so I don't have that problem! Hope all goes well, worst case scenario could you put aside the money you would pay in cover into a savings account? Then you're self insuring.
Karb - Congrats on the new job! Apparently the happiest workers are those that live within 30 minutes from their job, so fingers crossed you'll like it more.
Ally - Hope you're feeling better very soon. I know what you mean about having an hours lunch - some days it is very handy for me as I work in the town centre so can pop out & do xmas shopping etc, sometimes it is a curse as I spend money just to avoid boredom! Trying to stay in the office on MSE as much as possible these days...
Today I have/will:-- Made use of free water & milk at work
- Food from stores
- Dinner from meal plan - Chicken enchiladas
- Chicken has been defrosting overnight in the fridge as this will help to keep the fridge cold & means ever so slightly less energy used!
- Charge phone at work
- Heating off as long as possible, lots of layers instead
- Daily clicks etc on Sw@gbucks
- Keep fingers & toes crossed re job application, it's not looking good if I have not heard back a week later, is it?

- Log calories using free app
- Check online banking
- Surveys
- Declutter & flylady
- Check for more mystery shopping opportunities
- Take a photo for NUS card
- Enter some comps
- Ask about carboots on FB as I am getting nowhere googling!
- Study - Must get back into this evening so planning at least an hour
- Washing on eco setting using less than the recommended dose of washing liquid
- DH hopefully doing some overtime tonight

Just checked my email & seen that New Look are doing a 25% off voucher for in store over the next few days or online today only! This cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount but is more than the 10% discount I was going to use when I got my NUS card through, so I will use this code tonight to order some xmas pressies.
If anyone wants the code it's EE25NOV33, or if you'd rather shop in store just sign up for their email newsletter.:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

My DF suggested I set up a monthly savings account this time last year (last payment this month) as we knew the old insurer would stop cover this year.
So I guess in effect, I've been paying twice for the past year (this years cover & to the savings pot) and thankfully I do have that to fall back on worst case scenario ...... hoping to get cover tho as would really like to continue the savings pot to hopefully eventually replace the boiler as it will need done at some point . I have absolutely no idea how much they cost to replace ...... added to ever growing "to do" list!:)Pernicious wrote: »Karb - Congrats on the new job! Will vouch for that ..... gone from an hour + commute both ways to 15 mins ...... *sigh* it's absolutely fantastic having an extra couple of hours each day .... walking the dog / "me time" etc

Ah that's good then
You'll be looking at at least £1k for a decent new boiler, plus costs to fit. My aim once debt free is to get saving as we're not sure how many years are left in our one so it would be nice to not have to worry about it. :idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Ahhhh thanks for the rough estimate ..... think I'll aim for £1500 in the first place then!
Only managing to put £25 / month away so fingers crossed it lasts a while yet!
Another thing to add to sig! .... will be nice to have a savings one as well as a debt one!;)
Ohhhhh and you've now given me a jog to have a hunt around for the best monthly savings account to set the new one up from next month - thanks:TGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Told by person he'd look into it & phone me back in 10 mins ...... and hour + later & still waiting
Phoned again & .......... it's not in the book for today & has been cancelled :mad::mad::mad::mad:
Absolutely fuming ..... it's been booked for over 2 weeks so plenty of time for someone to let me know if it needs rearranged ............. waiting for complaints manager atm ...... not happy .....

Couple of ideas here:
:DSell you old boiler to a boiler breaker to reclaim some cash that way. (Works in the same way as selling your car to a scrap dealer.)
:DConsider buying a refurbished/reconditioned boiler instead of a new one. Article about it here.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
