Last year I signed up to a T-mobile contract, and was away for 2 weeks after signing up.
When I got back from holiday I found out that I had no signal in my area and I rang up T-mobile and they said there is no way you can cancel.
My contract was £30 a month and after about 4 months I had to get a second contract with orange as I needed to be able to use my phone in my home town.
So, I sent an e-mail explaining that I had no signal(even tho signal checker said i have excellent coverage), that I was not using my contract at all and was wasting £30 a month.
About three days later I got a call from T-mobile rep who was very apologetic and applied a £100 credit to my bill and then reduced the tariff down to the minimum of £15 a month.
If you can't cancel then I would send an e-mail/letter to their complaints department as they may be able to sort something out for you!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

Email from T Mobile. Thanks for your email asking if our dealers will take back a newly connected phone, should you find the coverage is not suitable.
Unfortunately, we no longer take phones back within 14 days, as we stopped offering this guarantee in May 2003.
If you do decide to take your phone back to your dealer, I'm afraid we won't be able to give you a refund - though some dealers may have their own money-back scheme
However, if the phone 'Breaks' ie doesn't work properly then under the sale of goods act you can demand a replacement OR a refund - the choice is yours.
I would take it back to a different shop and complain that it keeps cutting out intermittently and demand a refund if I were your mate. Go on a Saturday and they will probably be too busy to argue - esp if he starts shouting the odds at the asst."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -

And if that doesn't work stick your phone on ebay and beg t-mobile to reduce tariff down to minimum."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
