Time to reform the TPS and stop nuisance sales calls

I have caller display on my phone. As I now know all my International calls are spam I just won't pick up the calls.Sometimes I get Foreign language students call me but they know to email if they can't get me on the phone. That is why I normally picked up the calls.

I have caller display so I check it before answering. Any 'no number' or numbers starting with 08 are never answered. There is a message to tell them this but they probably don't wait that long. Sometimes they then ring my mobile but that is also ignored.

Did anybody see "Newsnight" the other night when a guy representing some of the CMC's didn't seem to think that paying £40 or so for a lead wasn't a problem. (this is the reason for a great proportion of the spam text/calls/emails)

He just blamed the banks for stealing money!

Whilst I agree in principle that the TPS is not effectively enforcing it's mandate I'm afraid I couldn't possibly sign anything that has been as poorly written as your petition.

I get international calls every few days which I ignore thanks to Caller Display. (bound to be muppet scammers or marketing carp)

These people make my blood boil. There persistence 3 or more times every day even though you tell them where to go is bullying. Should be outlawed. Most of the calls I get are local usually within 20 miles offering pvc products.

Over the past week I have had four poorly spoken Asians ring from an International number, I used to tell them lose my number off your database, but that had no affect.

So now I immediately tell them just hang on a second, and put the phone in a drawer if I'm in the kitchen and carry on doing what I'm doing, one held on over 20 minutes before I told him wrong number and hung up. The TPS are a waste of space and I believe cannot deal with overseas callers, maybe we should have a sticky for the most persistent caller who held on the longest

I used to rant and rave at these characters, now I just have an insane chuckle to myself and get on with doing what I'm doing, knowing my little friends are in the drawer...............................they really were not getting too me :eek:

I do not get many so TPS is mostly working. To the ones that do get through telling them to fcuk off and stop calling me gives me some small pleasure.
