Oh, and we recently had a naming day for our daughter - my cousin, who wasn't invited, told everyone else she was coming except me, and then made a massive fuss that I hadn't arranged a hotel/transport for her.

I didn't thump her, pull her hair or throw her out. I made her welcome, because in the end, does it really matter?

No wonder they didn't come, they certainly didn't feel welcome!

Well thats the point, he wasn't welcome but we bowed to family pressures, Sorry if we dont want to pay £100+ for a random strangers dinner and entertainment.
  • I think, and I apologise if I'm wrong, that I would agree with partialycloudy - it's a money thing. Not all of us have money to chuck around, and I would balk at paying for a near-stranger's train fare and entertainment.

Hardly a "random stranger" - it was your sister's boyfriend.
    From Poland...with love.

    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

I'm going to sound awful here:
she is your soon to be sister in law
Allocate a plus one for her, and let her bring the guy, if he doesnt want to come, thats up to him but maybe he really does want to make a good impression

i started going out with soon to be mrs s.s, i had met her dad once before she had an operation, our second meeting was him picking me up because the hospital was miles away and i couldnt afford to buy a sat nav.
i had only met her sister once (at the trafford centre) before going round for christmas eve, the huge family get together where every single member of the family gets together.
and this is someone that has had anxiety attacks his whole adult life lol

why not have a get together a week or so before the wedding? i bet this guy is bricking it and just trying to be nice
Who remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?
