SOA for the OR

To be honest I would, you need what you need and it's in the ORs best interest that you end up with a comfortable and workable budget. It's ok for them to say 'don't get your hair done' but that isn't going to happen and why should it? If the OR is too dumb to let you have what you need for these expenses and let you be honest about it, you need to make sure you are going to be ok every month and if that means adding enough to allow for his chopping then so be it. Stupid that you need to do this but that's how it is sadly. As if you don't have enough to worry about!:A

The O.R. wouldn't know as it doesn't say in contract..

Don't feel bad, does he feel bad about telling you £10 is enough for a woman to get her hair done?:A

No, don't feel bad. I understand why you do, basically because you want to be seen to do right. And you are, for you.0

Perhaps because it is a fib!!
BTW I'm not criticising, as I'm not so whiter than white myself. But, the OR is entitled to ask for proof of expenditure if they suspect some manipulation.
It's best just to be honest and reasonable about your expenses.
I've spent more than enough time worrying about my debts prior to BR, without adding the worry of 'will the the OR catch me in a lie'.
Again, just my opinion. But best of luck anyway.....Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I agree that there might be a crisis of conscience on this one. But there must be people who include expenses for cigarettes/alcohol/chocolate in their food budgets for whatever their particular need is.
Since the available 'categories' of expenditure are limited, and by all accounts capped, then there appears to be very little room for movement. I don't think anyone wants to fib, but they do want a realistic list of expenditure at the end of the day, otherwise there's no point.0 -

I agree entirely. I just don't want to see people get into trouble with the OR over this. If you cant prove something as expenses don't claim it!Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I so see the point!. It's just that you have to be fair with the OR so that they are fair with you. In the end, you are the one on the end of the court order.
best of luck....Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Well then the OR should allow neko to be honest. The fact is her kind of hair does take more looking after, which costs more. She isn't looking to buy a condo in the Bahamas here, she just wants her hair done. Now I think £10 is unreasonable for any woman for haircuts, but even more so in her case. The fact that she isn't including TV licence, pet expenses, glasses etc etc should mean there is a little flexibility for things she does need which the TV/ pet owning glasses wearing person gets without a lot of question.:A
