QuickQuid Taking money from my account unlawfully

Everyone can budget.
The trouble is people think it is a human right to have a combination or all of the follow, widescreen tv, gaming console, PC, Laptop, Smartphone, subscription tv etc....
When I was younger, my mum had very little money. She got a tv rented from Radio Rentals, shopped at jumble sales, we ate bread and dripping at least twice a week and all appliances such as cookers etc, were second hand. In general what we couldn't afford, we didn't have.
My mum didn't believe in credit (still doesn't), but she was very good at budgeting.
I have 2 mates who claim poverty and both have laptops, smartphones, game consoles, internet access, widescreen tv's, one has Sky and both buy new clothes regularly.0 -
Hey all,
Had a nice good read and to be completely honest I'm amazed at what I have read so far. I needed a payday loan as without it I was unable to raise funds to move to my new house 150 miles away to start my new job, I had not long left University and I had been unemployed through out university and a year after leaving I struggled to find work. I remember looking back at my job applications and within that 1 year alone I sent in excess of 15000 job applications, I remember tirelessly hitting the 'Apply' button on websites like reed and totaljobs.
I finally found a job, they wanted to hire me but I couldn't get there on a commuting level. I had no alternative but to move...but in order to move i needed to raise funds for a deposit, as that's hard to raise as I have a family and I'm unemployed...oh joy!
What do I do...Do I stay in my same position barely getting by living below the poverty line or grab the bull by the horns and move to start a fresh, in a reasonably paid job...
I'm desperate to succeed and make a life for myself, desperate to cloth my kids in reasonable clothing and not have to rely on second hands etc, by nice food, hell maybe a holiday, I went to uni to try to better myself. I don't have friends and family who are financially secure that I can simply ask them for a quick loan of x amount of money and so I had no alternative but to take this loan!!
I'm amazed that people think "Ohh yes yes come now there is always another alternative" NO THERE ISN'T deserate times = desperate measures and I was desperate to break free of my small existance and take any job that was offered to me!
Due to my traveling the only car I could afford was an old 1.8 petrol astra, I couldn't stretch to a diesel and no I don't have a compan car! Therefore the thing broke down 3 times on me which again, no car = no job!! What do you want me to do? walk to dover? Get a bycicle to Liverpool? Hop to Scotland?? Or quite my job and then get criticised for living off the "Tax Payer"
Almost Every single post I have read on here sickens me! I asked for help and advice and I have mainly go criticism!! There are a few posts 'Worried48' especially who will understand my position and situation.
I never ever want people to feel sorry for me! I will break free and make it on my own! I have always been independant and want to make my own life!;)
Suffice to say I don't think I will ever ever ask for any sort of assistance from this site again, I spoke to national debt line and they were understanding and offered advice to HELP me, 95% of people on here have been horrible and not even bothered to offer any sort of assistance!
To those that have I would like to say thanks!!

This website was for me one of the first steps to try and resolve my problems, no one needs an iron fist telling them that they are silly to take these stupic loans as trust me they know it's bonkers when they are doing it, but have no other choice!
People come here for advice and assistance not to be criticised and laughed at, please for the future help those that come this way, even if it's to point them in the right direction of the national debt line.
Don't be nasty and gloat at your success infront of there failure! Trust me they know they have done wrong and in my eyes are taking a brave step to try and rectify the situation they are in!
TRUST ME, people like my and others coming for advice are not in anyway shape or form asking for your Pitty!0 -
So the advice that suggested you pursue a complaint wasn't helpful?DragonKnight wrote: »This website was for me one of the first steps to try and resolve my problems, no one needs an iron fist telling them that they are silly to take these stupic loans as trust me they know it's bonkers when they are doing it, but have no other choice!

The advice that said not to use these horrible companies ever again wasn't sensible?
The advice that suggested getting on top of budgeting doesn't make sense?
If I've understood correctly, Worried48 has had a lifetime of poverty and pet love. There are a few posts 'Worried48' especially who will understand my position and situation.
I stand very much by my first post. Get a hold on budgeting and saving. Don't use PDL companies again. Life will be a lot easier if large chunks of your hard earned income aren't adding to the profits of one of these firms.0 -
The above was a reply to my post earlier.DragonKnight wrote: »The first real helpful bit of advice about the question I actually asked. Thanks for that I will look in to this and make an official complaint.
So, 2 questions:
1. Did you make the complaint?
2. Have you had the money credited back to your account yet?
Apologies if I've missed the answers to these questions in all the subsequent squabbling!0 -
Hi DragonKnight
Sorry about all the above crap you had to read. You came here for practical advice and got a load of old riteous crap. I hope you have everything sorted. I have experience of these people and Stella Creasy MP is really hot on them at the minute. Just a wee bit of advice for now, NEVER ever speak to these people, keep everything in writing (either post or email). You might get threatening letters or phone calls from these lowlifes but there is a way around this. If you need to know anything please ask and I will help as much as I can. Good Luck hun xMy LBM - December 2010!

Easier said that done, again zero help from you! Where is the advice on how to budget? where is the link for the budget sheet? We all know this but we're asking for assistance on finding further advice and and help on writing a budget sheet! Don't tell me what I already know! :rotfl:0 -

After seeking advice from the national debt line, they advised me on writing to them and helped me structure a letter, I have since made a complaint and received my money back + £100 compensation for my distress, I have also negotiated a repayment amount each month with them.

Many thanks for your advice, I have kept it in writing and I have written to all my creditors asking them to stop all interest and accept a reduced monthly amount.
Treating all creditors the same, i'm still waiting to hear from most of the creditors and I know there will be resistance but keep chugging away and it will all come right
I have then opened a new account with an unaffiliated bank and all wages etc will be paid in to there.
Finally light at the end of the tunnel. :T0
