Uolypool, please encourage your son to make formal complaints about these racist and homophobic comments - those responsible could well find themselves kicked out and even barred from other universities, also they could even face police charges.
Big hugs to you both, and I'm glad to read that the Welfare team are supportive and have suggestions for him.0 -
Evening all
Uolypool - So sorry to hear about your DS. Make sure you complain to the uni. And the police.
Adelight - congrats!
I had a lovely time in GloucesterYesterday we wandered around the docks, went to the Catherdral and then watched fireworks over the docks before heading back to hotel for food and girlie night in. Today we went shopping
. Gloucester is an odd town, some beautiful parts and then some hideous bits! :rotfl:. Horrendous driving conditions on the way home, rain and fog. I could barely see anything.
Been home about an hour, WM been on and made stirfry for tea. Looking forward to catching up with Strictly.

All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
FB - Perhaps you could pass on all our messages of support, including mine, hope this gets sorted and the stupid girl gets all she deserves. She is obviously not mature enough to be at Uni.
Evening All
Had a busy day, went to I?ea to return a clock, then to Co&tco for chicken and fish and then into Glasgow for a wander. Got another couple of christmas pressies which was good, I only have a few to get now.
Went to Lidl on the way home to get supplies so hopefully wont have to spend any money this week!
Spoke to DS2 this afternoon - he has just returned from China and had a ball. DD showed me photos of him, he bought a silk suit in a rather fetching dark red for about £50!
Oh well, that's the weekend over, hope it was a good one for you. Take care. XX0 -

Not managed to get on here for last couple of days. Friday dh & i went into london for 1 of his colleagues leaving do's had a really nice evening just drank that 1 too many so felt a little below par on saturday. saturday evening went to the village firework display which was very good and the weather held off. today however has been rain most of the day, however managed to walk woofer inbetween the rain.

uolypool - hope your ds is okay, I too hope that he doesnt give up his uni place for that nasty piece of work. I hope she gets what she deserves.
Well back to work tomorrow, not looking forward to it. I have spent the afternoon looking a job websites to try and find something else.

Just catching up with the tail end of yesterday's thread....
Butterfly Brain so sorry to hear about your DH's friend; it's awful when that happens, I know only too well. I still remember the shock we both felt when Colin left for the Summerlands (the chap who got me and Mr LW together). I hope DH ... what can I say... "feels better" doesn't sound quite right, but you get my drift.
Uolypool methinks the little brat needs a good kick in the posterior. And I thought comments about race and sexual orientation were not tolerated these days? I also thought you had to be intelligent to attend uni - she's showing all the intelligence of a single-celled amoeba! And I'm probably being unfair on single-celled amoebae there. You know, I'd be inclined to invoke this lady to help deal with the situation: http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/egypt/maat.htm
You may be sure, I'm very, very angry on your DS's behalf.
Mary was collected at 14:00 yesterday, and Dylan arrived a the same time - he's settled in immediately, but then, it is his 5th saty with us.:D Poor chap got a tick on him yesterday, just before he was due to be picked up from his owners.:( They've managed to remove it, but they've asked me to keep the site bathed, and to keep an eye on him to make sure there's no nasty after-effects. He's ever so good; doesn't whinge with the bathing - but I suspect knowing he's going to get a biscuit afterwards probably helps!:D
He's not too keen to go out n this rain, but is happy to use the garden - all I have to do is open the back door, tell him to "go and be a good boy" and he'll trot out, do what he needs to, and come back.:o
Mr LW has been to the monthly Farmers Market, so we have our month's supply of cheese.:D He also managed to get some of the lovely unpasteurised cream, so I've made a quiche, and will turn the rest into chocolate mousse, as it needs to be used very quickly.
Thanks LW xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Perhaps we can arrange our own mini meet? LW and anyone else welcome too xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
