Dishwasher woes - making dishes dirtier

I purchased a Bosch SM150CO5GB semi integrated dishwasher in May and have had no end of problems since we installed it.
The dishes are coming out filthy, covered in tiny grains and anything on the top shelf has pools of filthy silt like water when the cycle ends.
We've had the arms apart, cleaned the little holes umpteen times, made sure there is nothing in the drain at the bottom etc etc but to no avail. I actually put in some clean white plates to see what would happen and they came out all gritty.
There is plenty rinse aid, salt and I've tried gel, tablet and liquid cleaners. Does anyone have any other suggestions - I'm at my wits end......

check where the drain hose goes, is it connected to a spigot on the trap under the sink ?, if this is the case the pipe needs to go up at high level before it connects to the trap or dirty water from the sink will go back into the dishwasherI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
It's still covered under warranty. Get Bosch to sort it out.0

Checked that too, sorry should have said. It's all as it should be.
I've also run several "hot" washes empty and one with soda crystals.Gloomendoom wrote: »It's still covered under warranty. Get Bosch to sort it out.
I called John Lewis as this was where we bought it - they advise it's unlikely to be a fault and either me putting in dishes which have food remnants on them (not the case) or not carrying out proper maintenance (never had to carry out regular maintenance on a dishwasher before) and are suggesting I may need to pay a call out charge up front which will be refunded if the engineer finds a fault. I have to say that rings alarm bells that he won't find a fault and I'll be left with a big bill.
I'm beginning to think I have no option but to get someone out - don't see why I should have to pay up front though. I may just do battle with John Lewis first on that point and see what happens.
will keep you posted!0 -
that is standard practice to charge a fee if no warranty fault is found,if not covered under warranty, the call out charge might cover a repair but I doubt it, parts etc will be extra.
Ask them what the call out charge is, then you can decide if it's worth going that route, it shouldn't be that expensive for a charge out charge but if it is, it may be worth just paying for someone else to come out and fix it but if your sure the fault is covered under warranty, get them out for the free repair.0 -
i had same fault develop in a Neff dishwasher (Neff & bosch same stuff i believe).
Had to call the service centre who weren't much help. They insisted on knowing the exact water hardness figure for my area (soft), and what the salt setting was (none because water was soft). So had to phone scottish water to get exact figure, only for neff to tell me that my water is soft and I dont need salt.
Got an engineer sent out, he couldnt find a fault, but replaced the pump unit and the brain (theres nothing much else to the machines), and its worked perfect since.0 -
Are you sure you are not over filling it. I found this happened to mine.
Just because it say 12 place setting doesnt necessarily mean 12 place settings.
Plates on ever other slot may help. It certainly did for me.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I have exactly the same problem with my dishwasher- its 2 years old. I've tried everything you have. Sometimes the dishes come out dirtier than when they went in. I have always rinsed dishes before putting them in.
Partan- how much did it cost to get a new pump fitted, if you don't mind me asking? I would be interested to see if anyone else replies with similar problems and if it is a neff/bosch problem only.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -
Phone Bosch, they're a good company, someone will be out to fix it in no time!0

I don't think JL are being unreasonable - you will only pay if you're at fault. If it is a fault with the machine you will get a refund.
JL, like most companies, ask for money up front because some people would take months to pay or not pay at all and it would cost them a lot to get the money, probably more than the call out charge.0
