Morrisons Pay at Pump don't accept Natwest?

Greetings all, I'll cut a long story short and get straight to the meat; girlfriend attempts to use Morrisons pay at the pump (in Sheffield) with her Natwest debit card. Every time she puts her card in it says 'sale cancelled'. Having chosen pay at the pump because she had the kids in the car she wasn't impressed. Had to leg it into the shop and pay, she asked the attendant about it and he says "Is it Natwest? We don't accept Natwest anymore"
Anyone got any ideas?? Is this a national Morrisons policy or something??

Pay at Pump uses something called guaranteed payments, perhaps NatWest and Morrisons had a tiff over payment terms or something.
Anyway, if she chose to Pay at Pump then the part where she inserts her card is at the beginning - she didn't have to leg it into the shop and pay, she could have used another petrol station.0 -
Taken from Natwest T&Cs
15.3.4 If you have a Debit card that displays the Visa Debit logo and starts with the numbers 4751 27 or 4751 28, you will only be able to use your card at a retailer or supplier of services where they can authorise the transaction with us at the time of the transaction being made. If this is not possible the transaction will be declined.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Does this mean they issue special cards to people who are untrustworthy? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Well that's stopped me from transferring my account to Natwest I am with Llodys TSB, and Santander my daughter is with Natwest I walk into town with my dog and I will NOT leave him tied up out side all the banks in my town welcome my dog they take pic's of him give him treats BUT every time I go into LlODYS TSB it ends up in a argument ......I have emailed Llodys bank and asked them what there problem is that none of the other 4 banks in Darwen mind him coming in they replied that its down to the manager of the branch but they could see no reason .....and they don't have a no dogs allowed sticker on there door .......
oppss sorry to starry of your topic xx0 -
Don't most places have a no dog policy? I am more surprised some banks let you take a dog in than one bank won't!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Food shops are required to ban (unless a Guide Dog) the rest are at the discretion of the establishment. In my suburb, all the banks admit dogs, but be Sub-PO will not!0

Thanks for the pearls of wisdom, the kids being in the car being the reason she chose to go to the only pay at the pump in the area...
preable, not sure exactly what you mean there? My hsbc advance (ie not a basic account) is visa debit?0 -

There are different types of Visa Debit, some require every payment to be authorised and therefore don't work at Pay at Pump and others don't have to be authorised for every transaction, and therefore work in more places. It used to be easier as most banks issues Visa Electron as the basic card and Visa Debit as the full card but now Visa Electron has been phased out and there is a Full Auth Visa Debit instead.0 -
My current account from Natwest starts at 4751, with an overdraft and everything. I'm sure I've used it for offline payments...0
