Possibly one or two members of staff are not aware of it, but quite clearly Natwest themselves are very aware of it, else they would not have mentioned it on their own website.

What exactly is this 'Natwest themselves' of whom you speak?

A composite body such as a corporation cannot be aware of anything - only it's human components can.

If Natwest staff are not aware of some aspect of the business then saying that 'Natwest are' is meaningless.

I'm sure they understand at a corporate level, but certainly when I was with them (shortly after the switch from Maestro to Visa Debit) nobody in branch or on the telephone banking line understood what the hell I was on about (eg. the blue cards are the same as the purple cards it's just the colour).

I gave up and switched back to Halifax.

The worst part is that Natwest themselves don't know this, so when you try asking if you can upgrade they just tell you that your card is the same and that the pay at pump machine must be broken.

Made me move back to Halifax in the end.
Considering you sub quoted the very post in question Azari, I would have thought even you would have noticed that :D

    You haven't answered the question.

All you've done is show that someone else used the same meaningless concept you did.

Except that in their case there is a certain justification in that they can demonstrate that elements of NatWest clearly don't know the rules whereas you are effectively claiming NatWest as a whole does. And they very clearly don't.

Cards issued with Natwest CURRENT accounts (Purple) are OK to for Pay @ Pump.

Cards issued with Natwest BASIC accounts (Blue) are not OK to use for Pay @ Pump.

The Blue cards are the old Solo/Electron cards. They all come under the Visa Debit umbrella now.

All service industries comprise the people who work for them. What's the point of 'Natwest themselves' 'knowing' something if their staff don't?! It's the staff who do the business, not some faceless corporation - 'Natwest' - who are separate to their staff.
