Evening All I placed an order for a brand new £400 fridge for very.co.uk as the other one was completely nackered they promised the item would be delivered between 07:00 and 19:00 surprise surprise no delivery! So I called them because the order tracking says its still processing. They direct me to Yodel so I call them to find out whats happening they claim they never had a fridge for our address at the depot and they are mystified into why Very.co.uk gave a delivery date because when Yodel receive the item they contact us to arrange a time.

So I have on one hand Very.co.uk washing their hands and Yodel denying they even had the Item!!

What do i do?

  • Try emailing network@shopdirect.com - I found them to be more responsive than the usual channels (Very reps post on this forum and give this address out.)

According to an ex employee yodel is also owned by the shop direct group - although I cannot confirm this.

    Thank You
because this it utterly rediculous I have a 2 year old son who I have no fridge to store his food for him to have so potentially a very hungry baby over the weekend!!!

They are in the same group as Littlewoods which is shop direct
  • I'll not be using them again myself, just glad to have it all over with now. Best of luck to you!

At the momment we have those pre-made childrens meal you can buy from the super market which is stuff like lesagne for a couple of pound! which are suprisingly healthy e.t.c. but non the less not the point of the potential if we didn't have that stuff for him

But i think I shall ask his grandparents to take him for saturday night if I hear nothing this weekend
  • I think littlewoods turned into very (while still being owned by SDG,) I bought from them knowing littlewoods name and assuming (incorrectly) that they were a well known and professional company.

Yodel say anything to get you off the phone, on one order they failed 3 times to deliver when stated and to pickup when stated, so 2 wasted days waiting in, rang customer services and they didn't have a clue! I ended up carrying a heavy item to the post office and cancelled Yodel.

If I were you I would cancel if they fail to deliver when they say, ring Very and either demand a new carrier or cancel.

Just Lodged a Complaint with Very finally got through to them after being on hold with a mobile phone on a 0844 number for 52 Minutes!

Not happy but the man I spoke to was very helpful he said If I send off every single call I made today along with a phone number to contact hotpoint to deliver it to me in my phone should be about 60 quid I estimate at then they will fully compensate me for my phone calls! I have his name and a reference number along with their address.

So I am starting to get somewhere.
