  • Just checking in to say that I cannot believe that I have paid over £850 back to debt this month! Just shows that when I put my mind to something I can really do it!!

Unfortuantely I have a big dental bill to come out of next weeks pay, but I shall keep pushing ahead to get paid as much off as I can!

The good news is that I have no birthdays that I need to go out for next month, although I do need a new pair of marathon trainers at £75!

Will keep my head down and work work work to get as much paid off from my 2nd job for the extras (trainers and dentist) so that my main pay can be used for debt still!

so happy to be on the road to repaying this debt now

  • Hi all

    Just checking in.

Well was paid last week and now own my marathon trainers! Also got back from the dentist today after paying them £916!!!

There fore no more has been paid off the debts so far other than the bare minimum(£50). I am doubtful that any over payments can be paid this month especially now I am £916 down, but I am trying to nick any shift I can get so that I can do so.

I get paid in 3 weeks, and then I am back on track with the overpayments. So effectively I have had one pay off to be able to sort my teeth out. I still have a £800 balance for them, but will next see them on 17th May which now gives me a few weeks to save my 2nd job money to pay for that!

Cant wait for this to be done so I can get back on track with debt busting!!!

    Hope everyone else is okay?

    Review of January-March 2014

    Best Decision

    · Starting to pay debt back..one month I managed £700 to one debtor!

    Worst Decision

    · Still going out for friends birthdays

    · Dental bill. Needed to be done but not good for the debt killing

    · Booking a holiday. I did get a cheap one, but thisis beside the point! That was £330 to debt

Priorities and focus for April-June 2014

    • Clear the credit card bill
    • After paying credit card and dentist back with 2nd job money, to start saving the 2nd job money in ISA/Cooker once and for all
    Specific Changes For April-June 2014

    • Stop wanting to leave the 2nd job and focus on how good it is for me
    • Keep a spending diary – but do it!!
    • Be more regimental and stick to my budgets I have set for the year
    • Cut down on alcohol

    Specific Goals For April-June 2014

    • Clear £2,500 off the total debt
    • Savings of £500 minimum from my 2nd job.

  • Dear diary

    Update from me...

I am so tired of working 2 jobs and was going to quit!! Seriously I am not going to give up and let tiredness get in the way of my ambition!!

So I am staying and have circled my leave date in the diary (End November) which coincides with the date that I plan to be debt free. I know I am pushing it, but I want my £9k debt gone by end November so that I can enjoy December and Christmas debt free. I know I calculated my DFD as April 2015, but I need to improve this and setting this new ambition .. although crazy, I think I may actually be able to do this is I work my a"£e off!

It has helped me to circle the date on the calander and tick the weeks off!

I also promised myself that if I do this,I am going to do something that I have never done...
I can go to the travel agents in December and put down a deposit for a luxury holiday that I have wanted for ages and pay it off over 2 months (using the money that I was paying off on my debt) to go in April when it would have been my original DFD! And all without putting it on credit!!

Now if that isnt an incentive to clear my debt early.. I dont know what is!!

    Hmm now where to go:
