It is verified by you having to enter the Product Key from the COA of your newly purchased laptop. No key, no discount.

Really? When did that start? Looks like I got my copy just in time then.

Edit: Just found it, Looks like I did get my copy in time then! Sorry OP, you can disregard my previous post.

Don't worry. Just let us know when you have it. Then I can verify the Motherboard etc.

Can you not tell by the specs in the link of the motherboard?

Motherboard not listed there. We can check when you receive it and perhaps try out XP and Windows 8 before you decide on the one.

TBH im buying the pc hoping that its better for online gaming only really (www.wgt.com) So the OS is not a big issue as long as im getting good gaming speed and browsing. Ive had XP OS for a long time and liked it. When I got this refurbished pc I was hoping tha tit would improve the internet for me. Im not that fussed about windows 7 but obviously if I can buy 8 cheaply then I would get it to possibly install at a later date.

where xp installs come a cropper are the SATA drivers, as few, if any were added onto the first version of xp. Manufacturer like dell added their own to their installation cd.

There are many pages about sata xp installation on google. Not really as straight forward to do, but also not difficult either
