It may not be as simple as that, as you may need to change a BIOS setting.
Installiing SP1 can be an annoyance, as you then have to add the Service Packs. But once you have the machine, I will help with the installation and activation.

Not sure which Motherboard is installed or whether there are XP Drivers available. We will see and overcome any issues.

Have a few blank CD-R and DVD media to hand.

Its the pc you told me about BTW

Once again someone asks on here how to install windows OS on a computer and the first answer is

    is it genuine?

What business is it of yours whether it is genuine or not?.

Aside from the technical implications, how about the fact that people may not want to assist someone in using software without a license? If someone is asking for advice and those vending the advice have questions about the legality then they should be allowed to ask without being jumped on.

windows 7 came with this pc but im going back to XP as I liked it better, but may also get the Windows 8 just incase, at £25 daft not too

You can get Windows 8 for £14.99. They have an offer that if you purchased a Windows 7 PC after June 2012 then you would eligible for the discount.

However.... They don't actually verify this and you aren't required to provide any proof except running the installer from any Windows 7 machine (as long as it's legit) , so you might want to check it out. It's widely known and hasn't been closed yet so it's a safe bet that Microsoft are actually using it to kick start windows 8 sales :)

I can't currently post links, but just google search "Windows upgrade offer"

It is verified by you having to enter the Product Key from the COA of your newly purchased laptop. No key, no discount.

Don't worry. Just let us know when you have it. Then I can verify the Motherboard etc.
