iOS 6: To Upgrade iPhone 4S or Not

Hi,

I refrained from updating my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 after reading the reviews about it's maps and youtube etc. Since it's been a good few weeks now since it's been released, has anyone noticed any improvements? Would it be a good idea to update to iOS 6 now?

I have iOS 6 and I haven't had any problems so far

6.0.1 came out last night, didn't change much.

You Tube is available as an app. Google Maps still works anyway...

No problems running 6.x had it since day 1.

Don't bother. Jailbreak your iPhone 4s on iOS5 and have the best experience possible with an iPhone. I am looking to buy a used iPhone specifically on iOS5 because I dislike iOS6 and they haven't jailbroken iOS6 yet.

The ver 6.n is fine. You can still use google maps, you tube and also get free sat nav

but the satnav relies on apple maps which isnt very accurate

I have no problems running iOS6, it hasn't crashed etc. but I'd wished I'd stayed with iOS5.xx

I miss Google Maps (more so Street View) & You Tube, yes there are work arounds but that's the problem they are just work arounds, so don't work anywhere need as good as before.

IMHO, I'd wait till iOS6.1 is out and then consider upgrading

I think you're only getting a dressed up reply here. No offence to others, but from what i've seen only Chorlie has touched on it.

Yes you can still get Google Maps on iOS6, but it's not "the same". Try it & you'll see what i mean. If you're happy with this then great, if not then you wont want iOS6. Just google how to get Google Maps on iOS6 for it to show you what it's like. I didn't like it that's for sure.


The best bit of advice i would give you is to save your SHSH blobs, make sure you have the blobs for 5.1.1 & then go ahead & update to iOS6. Try it out & see if you like it. I didn't, but because i had my SHSH blobs saved i could "downgrade" to iOS5.1.1 no problem. If i hadn't saved the blobs i'd have been out of luck.

I think the person is just trying to say iOS5 is better than iOS6, which is obviously their opinion.

Mine is that some people are overly sensitive. You know what they say about opinions though.
