How long before Three debt collectors take action?

Hi there, I previously owned a three mobile on a contract but I took out an o2 contract for work purposes shortly after, I now only use the o2 phone and completely forgot about the three one (silly me) and have just received a letter from Telecoms Debt Collectors saying that I owe them around £70. I have every intention of paying this but cannot until friday 9th at the latest. Will they take action before then? Thanks.

If you mean court actions, then surely they won't.
Beware that your credit history is likely to have been already damaged irreversibly.
  • Thanks, nobody will come to my house will they?

as per above a default will already of been applied
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Unlikely for such an amount. If you can, try to pay 3, and not the DC. As noted before, your credit file will already be damaged and paying it will not do much to improve it.

I am no expert, but I'd expect the status to change to 'settled'. Don't know how much it is.
  • Best bet is to call them straight away and tell them you intend to pay on the 9th - they will likely hold off on any further action until then.
The likelihood of anyone coming to your house is pretty much zero.

Highly unlikely anyone will come to your house. Having a settled default is better than an unsettled one so pay it off as soon as you can.

Telecoms is 3's in house DC. They're basically 3 under another name. Three wrote off my contract (exceptional circumstances however) but I was in arrears for about three months before they knew about my circumstances and they didnt actually default me. Check your credit file...

It does, but in the scale of things, is no better than it is when showing outstanding. The point being, paying it does no remove t blight on your file - so with no incentive, why bother?
