Hello everyone, especially some old faces. Mrs Chip
Fuddle - glad you are leaving that awful place. You are doing the right thing for your health and that's all there is to it.
Thanks for all the wedding invite responses. You guys are the bee's knees in the cat's pyjamas! I have made up my mind not to go, did as soon as I saw the card but I am letting others in RL affect my decision. Only mentioned to one friend and she really doesn't get where I am coming from. People don't mean to judge you but I know they do.
Did an Aldiddlydee shop today with the £5 off voucher and some of the other 30% and 50% off coupons. Thanks nutty. Will use the other £5 voucher on Tuesday. Also got some bargains in Liddlydee including some hazelnut choc bars for 22p, one bar seems to be missing.
Proud to announce I have used the sewing machine I purchased a good couple of years ago in one of aformentioned stores. It took me a long, long time to suss out the threading up process and all the different tensions etc. I struggled with threading the needle but managed eventually to unscrew the safety guard which helped a lot.
So today made my first garment... DS8 needs a Tudor outfit for Tuesday. I have fashioned a Tudoresque waistcoat (can't remember correct word) out of an old cheap throw. I cut out the pieces by guesswork and the finished item is very erm.... shall we say rustic... ok for a peasant outfit. I would not have been able to do a grand Henry VIII getup with my limited skills! Hoping I can kiss my labourious hand sewing days goodbye now.
Tomorrow need to make a basic belt and am covering an old flat cap with some more throw material. Have a white school shirt (tuck cuffs and collar inside the shirt) and will create baggy trousers with a pair of knee length socks.
well nearly the witching hour, better get some beauty sleep

Morning all - blimmin Monday again.
Tho the good news is - I don't work mondays!:p Still have to be up and about though.
DD has to leave at 7.30 today as she has early drama rehearsals - honestly, I am sure this Drama A level is more work than the rather more academic ones she is doing. It means DS has to let himself out the house at 8 - I hate it when he has to do that, I feel like he is a latch key kidHe is 14 so not like he's a baby, and he walks with a mate so he doesn't even have to be alone except for eating his breakfast, but still - I feel bad (he, on the other hand, isn't at all bothered!). I am going to make him his favourite lemon drizzle cake later, so that I feel like a good mummy again.
Then it's beds stripped and in the washer and the whole house needs cleaning before I am back continuing the marking I was doing all day yesterday. Yesterdays gem was "there are three versions of the contract, with the last one being the third" :T
My favourite tea tonight - prawns with spaghetti, rocket and tomato. Quick and yum, but does nothing to help clearing out the freezer I've been trying to empty for 18 months.
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Thanks for the ideas fuddle, have you ever batch made Yorkshire puds and frozen them yourself?? I know you can buy ready made ones frozen but was sure about 'fresh; homemade ones iygwim.
Think tomorrow will have to be sausages, as its the only thing not in the freezer!
Yeah all the time. It's what I've been doing while working. They freeze and reheat just fine.
Wow guys, I've just put the call in, albeit to the answer phone lol I was so strong, very articulate and stipulated that I find the environment far too stressful and on a continual basis. I said I suffered from panic and anxiety disorders and need to have access to my GP and feel the inability to do so has had a detrimental effect on my health. I said that stopping me from seeing a GP when I so obviously had tonsillitis was most probably the beginning of my stress. Working full-time and those hours means that you effectively cut off my need to see the GP. I said I need a flexible employer and the nursery isn't. I said I have tried extremely hard but my health comes first. I said I was going to the GP today to either get a doctors note or I will self certify, either way I will send written notice and the uniforms back.
I can't believe I was so strong. The tone of my voice was kind of like a cross tone, very low, very confident and I think I might have come across as taking no carp
Also woke up without a pain in my chest. Must dash, mammy duties!0 -
:T Good for you, fuddle. Carp employers don't deserve quality people like you. I cannot understand the mentalility of an employer who would want to prevent staff accessing a GP. If you're poorly and you won't get well in a timely manner without medication, why is it of benefit to them keep you from a diagnosis and treatment?!
I'm a bit  today as I found the my Yahoo! account was spamming inc sending to my main email account. Fortunately, I barely use the Y account, it's just a sort-of filter for stuff I don't want cluttering up my proper account. There wasn't much on my address book over there and, according to the mailer-daemon, what was sent from there bounced back again. Seems that the other parties weren't using their Y accounts any more. Thank goodness.
Burgering IP in eastern Europe on Saturday and someone in Asia has been logged onto my account this morning. Flippin' cheek. Good luck with that, guys; account is now deleted. Or rather, as per Y policy, suspended and inaccessible for 90 days then deleted.
May change my main email account as a precaution, too. Will think on it over the workday and do it later if necessary.
Great start to my week, frankly. Barstewards.
Right, better have brekkie and get a wriggle on, time and tide wait for no woman etc etc so on and so forth. Have a good one, peeps.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I thought about it, but as there's links from my Y! email to my "proper" email account, decided that I wanted to go one step further and kill it stone dead.
Fan-bliddy-tastic start to the workweek. My account was being accessed in Indonesia of all places.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Happened to me with gmail a few week back. Gmail said they intercepted as it was not from the location that normally accesses the account but to change my password completely incase. So annoying isn't it!0

MRS FUDDLE, you notice I'm giving you your full and deserved title today, you are such a strong and able person these days, it is such joy to see you take on the horrible situation you found yourself in and tell those horrid employers how it is going to be. So very proud of you girlie, it took real guts to make and impliment that decision with vigour and firmness. Well done you, have yourself a couple of weeks to get level again and something else much more suitable for you is going to turn up, you're brilliant, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Fuddle, so glad you have taken that decision and well done on the phone calls. Even making or taking a call can be very hard when you are anxious and panicky. Your health is the most important thing and chest pain is one of the most common sensations associated with anxiety but it is just a sensation and will go away now that you are out of that stressful environment.
Take care0
