Sending you love and hugs Sunshine, and to you Mardatha, some virtual sweeties.

We're taking a holiday next week, well, a week off in any case. I think hubby is seriously exhausted.

Morning toughies, today is PAYDAY!!!!!! I popped to the village shop and got a newspaper so will be stocking up on bits that have vouchers in aldi, there is even some 1/2 price bedding plants!! Earlier in the year I planted in front of the hedge some pansies and primulas that were reduced to 50p a tray. After the nice sunshine they look fabulous, all flowery and bright. It made me smile as nextdoor has weeds :-) can you see my smug face lol.

Little cheap things can make your day. I tried yesterday to start sorting things for the car boot, ut after a little while I sat down and fell asleep!!! Not like me but I did visit the dentist so my excuse is I was all tired out from that.

Feeling happier today, so im off for a brisk walk around the town. Hope everyone is ok, have a good day. x

Softstuff Enjoy your week off and I hope your toe is feeling better.

    Well done Miss Stiltwalker :)

We are all doing ok, my shed is finally up, but my plans to give it another coat of paint today look doomed as we are due to have lots of rain. I've been busy in the shop and with various other stuff and have had nothing interesting to post. I thought I should stick my head above the parapet and start posting again.

One thing that is going on started with a random comment at Knit and Natter on Tuesday. Worldwide Knit in Public Day is between 8-16 June this year ( I don't know why it's called a day when it lasts a week either ) and my idea that we could sit outside the library, or in the shopping centre if it rained, has morphed into an event in Town Hall Square with all the other Knit and Natter library groups with refreshments. One good thing I've arranged is lots of copies of the Innocent Smoothie hat patterns to give out to people so there might be some more money raised for Age UK. Once it all has the green light then I must start baking. I might need another freezer

I have a couple of days pottering around the house planned and I'm in the shop for the first time on Sunday for 6 hours. There are lots of jobs that need doing, but I can see them snowballing out of control and making more mess before there is any improvement. I'm not sure I have the get up and go to deal with that at the moment. Time for more tea I think.

    Take care xxxx

That sounds like a fun event SDG.
I've just taken the bunnies to the vet for their vaccinations. £120! DH says their medical bills are more than ours.
Have bought 2 of the Aldi vouchers as we need more stuff like handwash, washing powder etc so I should be able to spend £40 both weeks unfortunately. I still have to delve into my freezers though and use up stuff, I want to turn one of them off as we shouldn't need so much freezer and fridge space now we aren't running a catering business, but as the freezers have emptied I've been filling them up again.
I need to treat the garden furniture, which is about 10 yrs old and teak. I think it has only ever been treated once. Is there something cheaper than the stuff you can buy in B&Q I can use does anyone know?

    Hi there,

Another beautiful day. Washing on line and stirring gently in the breeze.

Had a nasty shock last night. The Rev was out at one of her endless meetings, so I snuggled myself up on the sofa with a cuppa and prepared for an evening of peace and mindless TV. I was deep into Emmerdale when there was a ring at the door and when I had struggled out of my snuggle blanket and answered it nine people strode confidently into the sitting room calling out cheery greetings.
I had completely forgotten a committee meeting that I had rashly agreed to host!
Had I remembered, I would have made HM biscuits to go with their coffee. But I hadn't, and didn't, and there wasn't.

    Back to Church Magazine writing.

Hi everyone, back from town with my mum. We managed to use the voucher between us. I managed to find some 30% discount meat, namely lamb steaks and some beef. In the news paper was some good discount coupons too, so I have stocked up with teabags, salad cream and other bits and bobs.

The washing is blowing lovely in the wind, so just a quick iron over and it can all be put away.

Monnogran, that's the sort of thing I manage to do. Possession glad your managing to use the vouchers too, its nice to have things in reserve. SDG nit and natter sounds like fun. I haven't seen the pattern for the innocent hats, but I do remember seeing them in the chiller dept in sainsbobs.

Have a great afternoon everyone x

Hi Pops I do hope you were able to catch up on your sleep. I have had manys a strange dream and would love to be able to understand what they meant. I never do find out.
We love homemade chips too, really lovely. Last week we fancied having fish and chips from our local chip shop, and we have bought from them many times over the years. the fish was always lovely. We would only do this once a month if that, but for a treat, we decided we would buy from them again. I buttered the bread set the table my dh texts to say he is on his way. I boil the kettle for the the tea, and it is all ready set up for him coming back.
Well Pops we will not be buying them ever again. The cost was £12 40p for us two and our ds. Opened the wrappers and the food was awful. More batter than fish over cooked batter, the chips were not nice too well done, son's burger was okay ish. So disappointing, and total waste of money, had to throw it out. Next time we will make our own :)

Afternoon all, just popping on to ask a quick question.

Does anyone have any simple recipes for Potato Salad and Coleslaw? Trying to pad out a buffet and assuming these are cheaper to make ourself?

I have done an "Italian" potato salad before, basically toss small potatoes/chunks in olive oil, rosemary, garlic and black pepper and cook in a medium oven for about 40 mins (take out half way through and toss)
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D
