SQ and MRSL I too though well fuddle hasn't posted for a while and softstuff was missing in action until recently. I forget who, but the lady who lives in Greece?? who always mentions the olive branches for her fire.... Its nice to hear from you all too.

Just been to put a dozen roses from @ldi on my dads grave, it will be his birthday on sunday - but I may find it far too hard attend on the actual day. The flowers were a bargain £3 :-)

Off to do tea for OH. will pop by later.

  • NUTTY you mean 2TONSILS the lady in Greece. I think she's got the house on the market and is trying for jobs in other countries, I seem to remember she was waiting to hear from one in Turkey so it might be that she's off for interviews etc. lets hope she's had some luck with both things. I'm sure she'll be in touch when she can, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Hi toughies, finally have a whole day off. Have so far taken mum to the local hospital for a chest xray, she has had a bad cough for 4 weeks and its not going. Last year she had fluid on her lungs, and her astmha has got worse just lately. We then went to @ldi to get her some shopping.

Don't forget next Thursday 'should' be the day they have the £5 coupon in the mirror newspaper. If you are good, you can use one voucher that day and the following week do it again as the coupons last for 7 days.

I have come home today and 2 fence panels have fallen down and the posts have been broken off. Now heres my dilemma , we originally put up the fence as we had our dog then. DO you think I should pay to have a new fence put up, and we are talking 11 panels and posts. Or should I just leave it, and hope that next door will get one as they now have a small dog. It is something I really just cant afford, we are sailing very close to the wind at the moment money wise.

I know everyone Is finding things hard, but we both work and after just the basic living costs we never seam to have any money left at the end of the month.... I even park and walk 5 minutes into town to save £1.50 a day I just don't know how much more I can take, everyday seems to be a struggle and its getting worse and worse.

On a better note, DD has just been accepted to do level 3 health and social care - a 2 year course. Some of her friends have been told they cant do it, or they will be re assessed in 6 weeks. Thank goodness me giving her a lecture that her work need to be the best has made her do her best.

Have a nice day everyone, im off for a milky coffee and toast for lunch.

nuttyp , well done to your DD. mine is just coming to the end of the same course and has thoroughly enjoyed it, much better for her than A levels would have been and she has now been offered a place to do a nursing degree so she is thrilled to bits.

As for the fence, I would wait for next door to do something or at least go fifty fifty on the cost and work.

Hmm, my little boy's daddy hated it too - until little boy grew into a bigger boy that loves it! Now boy and Dad spend many an afternoon or evening football training or playing (boy - OH ferries and watches), or "up the Villa", our tea time conversations often revolve around league places, players, matches etc.

I have no lawn to speak of :(

    :D

And then Daddy decides he'll run the local kids football team for said son and his mates for 5 years, and now runs the village men's reserve team for said son and soon for other son as well :rotfl:
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).

Oh yes!!, luckily now we have a "lady that does" who does the men's team kit.

I just chase the "lads" for their subs; they are a good bunch really ranging in age from 16 (now legal age to play adult under FA rule) to late 20's with an odd father figure (43) who is the fittest of the bunch.

I keep being called "mum" by some of them which is lovely.

DS1 was 18 on Tuesday, so his childhood chapter has closed, and his adulthood one opened.

Hmm muddy clothes won't bother me, I get the oily overalls every week from his garage! Lol.

Now I used to have to wash cricket whites for the ex and how the heck do you get the red ball stain out? NIGHTMARE!

hi, MRSl thankyou tit was 2tonsils!!! I wonder how things are in Greece now??

ALSMUM, thankyou for the nice comment. DD is hopeing to go onto university and be a dementia care social worker. She isn't overly accidemic, as in struggles with written work. She uses a Dictaphone to remember what was done in class later on. But she has a goal!!!

OH came home shattered from work, and nextdoor have propped up the fence to allow their dog out. Rang for a quote to re do the 12 panels and posts, £610. HMMMM no. Back to the drawing board. More than willing to go halves, but cant see them wanting to IYGWIM.

    Take care everyone. x

nutty - who actually owns the fence? Can it be repaired rather than replaced?
Our back gate blew open in the wind yesterday so I used it as a good excuse to buy more locks for it - DS9 has been breaking out fairly regularly recently, it now has three locks and didnt move an inch in the wind last night :)

kidcat, we HAD to fence both sides when we moved in as we had a dog. No dog now sadly tho. Our new neighbours have a dog its just we cant afford to replace the fence panels. They are around 8 years old now with wooden posts.
