We're generally in Specsavers at least once a week getting DD's glasses 'de-twistified' anyway - so probably not going to make much difference. They both have 2 pairs (well they will when DS's 20 minute job get back from being fixed!! LOL) so what I tend to do is switch to the second pair then take both in for sorting! DD has this habit of getting really cross and crawling off at a pace only her bum end goes faster than the front end and she headbutts the floor and twists her glasses. Guess we'll find out DS's fave way to beggar up his glasses - but oh he looks just so gorgeous in them, he definitely has a 'glasses face'.

Hello everyone. I used to post in the last thread last year until I got a bit carried away with uni. Anyway, I'm definitely feeling some tough times coming up. OH recently found out his site is closing at the end of April, they've offered to relocate him, but can't guarantee him many hours and with the extra travel (talking a 20 minute car journey, versus currently a 15 minute walk) we'd be out of pocket. We've been job hunting since he got the news, but nothing's come up yet...getting anxious now. Holding out hope that everything will work out, because it usually does, but you know, hard not to worry.

Morning everyone.....so lovely to wake up to a warm house.

Fuddle - yay to being able to keep Alfie and best of luck for Monday.

SQ - scary drive! But glad you're enjoying all the new bits you're involved with.

Smooth - welcome back, hope things look brighter soon.

Kidkat - thanks for the kind lkea offer. I may well take you up on that x

Today, between bouts of coughing and sneezing I need to get my house in some sort of order, catch up with washing and ironing and generally get it liveable again......just in time for the kitchen units and work surfaces to arrive on Thursday.....best I crack on then!

Fuddle - does your doggie have a filled Kong to keep him occupied? That would help. When I increased hours quite a few years ago I used to fill Kongs with peanut butter. We had 2 dogs so I just hoped they would share nicely ha ha. They got on well though. It might take him a bit of time to adjust.
    Good luck for tomorrow.
Mardatha - have you still snow? Sleet here yesterday but nothing so far today. Snow forecast this week though.
Might do some baking today. Have a chicken to roast for lunch and having some Yorks with it as the chicken lasts much longer so will give us a few days of meals.
On my 2nd mug of tea and after reading some more on here I plan to move to the settee and read my new Rose Elliot library books. Yay for Sundays!

Ta for the hug sq, seems to have helped, lurgy feels as though it is passing, but has left behind a muddly void, I feel only half in this world and very, very dizzy. Also - what a scary experience that must have been with your car, thank goodness you and car are ok!

lottiesmum - there are loads of slowcooker things here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=490232&postcount=9 (sorry, long time without forums, forgotten how to make a link pretty). Today I've dumped some pork in mine that the butcher has assured will be great in a slowcooker, and also some honey and apples just to add a bit of flavour and give me my lovely appley accompaniment.

No snow here yet, phew! Just big fat raindrops, lots and lots of them.

Lots of snow yesterday and more today, white world again but I heard a (ONE!) curlew yesterday so spring must coming sometime.. Worried in case we have another bad summer, if I don't get some sun I'll go mad.
    Well, madder.
  • Thanks Bexim I'll go and have a look. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, being new to forums it is sometimes a bit overwhelming to get to the right place, nice to have a helping hand:j

Your pork sounds lovely seems slow cookers are more versatile than I gave them credit for.

Fingers crossed with all your great advice and a number of other changes we as a household are making I may be able to achieve my goal of being a stay at home mum (3rd time lucky)
