WCS you will be used to the discomfort already, hopefully what you will come to and fairly quickly is a place where you are not in pain and find you can do so much more than you can at this moment. Then it will be your time, and you can do all the things you want to and enjoy life again, you can you know!!!!!
NARGLEBLAST I'm sorry to say we did eat Rudolph, well one of his cousins. We had a magical day with the Saami people at Aryeplog and had smoked reindeer steaks with boiled potatoes and lingonberry silt cooked over an open fire and eaten sitting by the lake in the evening sun, it really doesn't get much better than that, it was a wonderful experience that included going into the corral with the handleable reindeer and trying reindeer milk, a day I'll treasure forever, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
EEEK sitting by a lake in the evening sun - don't they have MIDGES?? :eek:0

MAR we had a few Mozzies but being forewarned we'd already sprayed ourselves liberally with repellant so they were no problem at all, it was lovely!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.0

wcs - sorry to hear of your diagnosis, don't know anything much about arthritis but just wanted to send a hug.
jem - glad you are feeling a little better. Well done with having a talk with DH and letting him know how you feel. Have a lovely evening tonight. We are here come rain or shine if you need to talk.
well done to the white goods fixers! I am impressed! I thought our washing machine was on its last legs yesterday, the noise it was making was dreadful. When I emptied the machine, a bra wire was caught in one of the "dimples" in the drum. Bra is ruined but wishy washy is fine - I am so grateful and back to using the washing nets!
Glad you are feeling a bit better ginny. I hope you get the bed grant.
Thanks for the suggestion possession (that rhymes). DS8 won't eat soup, DS6 only a certain brand of tomato and DH maybe on a very good day. I on the other hand eat a lot of soup for lunch so I might have a go at making some for myself at least. Only tried a couple of times in the past and they were pretty bland and I haven't tried since
.
Found a few bits and bobs in the freezer to cobble tea (just need to ping them all). I have been doing so well using fresh and frozen food but haven't done much restocking. Will be the first job when kids back to school next week. Happy to report chesty is very neat and tidy!
A little good news to share- a friend has had the all clear from the breast clinic. Big phew all round.
Haven't got all the toy sorting done but we do have a full black sack of games for the charity shop so that's a start and feel pretty chilled. Life feels good today. I have been a bit of a piggy today. Lots of homemade cake left and boys and I have been availing ourselves. Falling in love with raspberry, white choc and coconut muffins...
better go and draw curtains and start dinner

Hugs to those in need, my SIL has psoriatic arthritis, he says the worse thing is not being able to get bladdered on a regular basis!
Worrying news this morning, my nephews daughter has been diagnosed with leukemia, poor lass is only 2 and a half.
Back to work on Monday, not got everything done that I should, but have spent lots of time with the various DGC's.

Evening all. Flying visit, hope to catch up the past 24 hours later, but have a very easy-peasy techy question which I'm too sheepish to take to the Techy board;
I've plugged a brand-new USB stick into a USB port (functional port) on my pooter. I want to copy files to it but not sure how to do it. When I went to My Documents via the control panel, it identified all the usual suspects i.e. CD and DVD and floppy drives and doesn't seem to know it's got a USB stick in it now. It's something silly, I'm sure, but what do you do to get the pooter to see the USB stick and then how do you copy files onto it?
I fear time may be pressing as it made a funny noise on start-up just now............... *drinks tea anxiously in stress bunny mode*Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

If in doubt, reboot. That quite often fixes it. The Computer Wizard will tell you to do that anyway so you might as well get it over with.
Do you have any other USB ports? Try swapping leads round, sometimes the ports connectors get a bit iffy with age - I have to use a USB hub with my lappy as I can't use one of the ports anymoreIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
GQ - I would take the USB out and then wait a minute and put it in again, it should show up in the My Computer section under drives with removable storage or similar type bit. Double click to open it then you can drag and drop your document in.0

Now have another bubble saying it's ready to use.
I'm such an ignoramous, this is the first USB stick I've ever used. Can you see why I'm too sheepish to go onto the Techy thread?
