Sorry to hear your sad news mcculloch29
If you have access it looks ok to me and the proof is probably in how successful it is. It still looks as though the problem is more with ready meals, if meat is affected probably more like mince. Rather than cuts of specific meat.
You might even find you could(space/money allowing)be able to have meat delivered to your door. Even bring the costs down by sharing an order with others if you know others who feel similar.
Type in meat delivery into a search engine and it is quite interesting what links come up. If I had a spare freezer/room even I might consider it."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

There is a big butchers locally that offers high quality meat at great prices but I would for now have to add in the cost of a taxi or bus fares and travel. I would also have to buy the equivelent of probably all I need for the year.
Then again as I eat less meat and often manage to get some YS stuff I doubt even they can do theirs any cheaper.
I wish more towns had some kind of club where people could order food in bulk, share costs and bring costs down. In these austere times there must be the demand."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

What can I do with lamb flank? I went to the butcher for stewing lamb and it's £5.50 a lb, so grabbed the flank instead at half the price.0

It always comes down to a lack of space/pot luck...last night I could have purcased loads of bread/bread buns YS at silly prices but had to make do with a couple...this time it was Kingsmill best of both loaves worth £1.39 selling at 7p! Just suppose I could have stored ten in a freezer that is approx £14 of bread for 70p.
You could not make your own any cheaper. Other nights I have had Hovis seeded loaves for similar prices/savings.
But it is difficult hitting the right time, last night if I had not hung around for ages and not everyone can do that, I'd have missed that bargain.

McCULLOCH I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear friend. I hope you find some comfort in remembering the friendship and shared lovely times you had together. It is never easy to find acceptance when someone leaves so suddenly but if you remember laughter and warmth you'll never really loose her, thinking of you and any family she had, Love Lyn xxx.0

McCulloch, what a wonderful influence on your life your friend was and such a great loss but you have fond memories to look back on and I hope that helps you through the day. xx
I have had a pleasant half an hour with an old friend today inbetween her visits to her hubby in hospital. We are in contact online everyweek but rarely get a chance to see each other in RL so it was good to get together. Her Oh has cancer and now is in with pneaumonia and bloodclots on the arms where they feed his chemo in. We have a good old moan and a laugh with a cuppa, talk of kids and crafts and somehow it helps us both.
Im also experimenting with recipes to cut the meat down and would rather have a little good meat than a lot of processed meat - Convincing the men is a different matter but what they dont know wont bother them - I got that mantra from a Mr Cameron though it doesnt seem to be working for him and his buddiesUnfortunately Oh doesnt really like soup except pea and ham and that can get a bit much if you have it too often - dont want to singlehandedly destroy the ozone layer - so I am thinking savoury hm pies and buns might work. I know you can make muffins with veg and presume a bit of cheese added will work? Am going to have a google and see what I can come up with for lunches.
