That link made me smile Grandma, thanks.

Thinking of those who are having a difficult time with loved ones who are ill or have departed...and the emptiness for those that remain. I too will light a candle later and offer a prayer.

Having a bit of a down day not sure why, it happens, tomorrow could be different. Had a bit of a weird dream even though I slept reasonably well.

Getting a bit adventurous in the kitchen soon(as said elsewhere)going to try some of my own roast potatoes even though for me its probably as cheap/easy to buy a packet of Aunt Bessies...also plan to have a go at doing my own roasted veg and another night I am going to attempt my own stir fry...

I have cheated on the pancakes though...I got 8 ready made pancakes for £1 in Tesco's and a box of mix for 50p for later in the year if I want some more...

Went a bit mad on packets of mixes as they are all half price but will add flavour to meals done in the slow cooker or oven...each packet serves four people but if I measure the contents carefully I can get four meals out of one packet so that brings the cost down to 10p-20p per meal and better than paying full price.

I've given up on the Hairy Bikers new series...most of the meals don't seem that special or cheap even though they seem to think that they are...and even the website suggests that they show how to create a dinner for two that is fit for a king on a pauper's budget.

kidkat I hope you have made time to have a little peace for yourself today. So much to do with arrangements to be made, but it is so easy to overlook your own health. Do take care. When my DM passed I think I must have been in shock although I felt I was coping reasonably well, until I thought I was going to pass out in M*&*S and then had a bit of a 'wobbly' on the morning of the funeral. It is often many weeks after the 'event' before the realisation of what you have been through sets in, so it is really important to look after yourself. You have done everything you possibly could and when you look back, this, will give you comfort. x

Possession Thinking of you and hoping you and your DH don't have to face this again.

Not too much happening here today, apart from visiting DMiL in her Nursing Home. I seem to have been visiting NHs non stop for the past 6+ years. Sometimes we can be lighthearted and smiling, but today DH and I just wanted to wrap her up and bring her home. She often feels depressed by her situation and today I felt it for her, she's in her 90's and physically very frail after several serious falls, but her mind is still fairly alert on most days. How sad to have to leave your home after being in the same one for over 50 years. It certainly makes me think.

Afternoon Toughies, have just come back from a very cold walk with the boy and wish to report that the Camellias that were in bud last week are now in full bloom, They are on a sunny corner and it is just one bush so far, but it looks as if spring is starting to sprung at least in the deep south. It doesn't feel very spring like out there today though does it? Cheers Lyn xxx.

Over here in the land of the opposite, I did manage to have my duvet on last night. So either Autumn is on the way, or I'm just a bit late for my monthly injection and I'm feeling rough...

Really hope we don't go through all that again.

I hope not too Possession. At the risk of sounding like a toddler, that's not fair.

I'm having another bad couple of days. Physio and exercises given seem to be three steps forward, two steps back each week. So there's a surge of excitement as I feel better, then I get a new exercise or manipulated and it's worse. I know it's all good for the long run and progress is at least happening, but the pain and exercising for about half an hour 3 times each day is so damned exhausting.

Thank you all so much for your support, I have taken all your advice and took today "off" as it were, it was important that the kids had me here today and that we re-connected, so after doing the school run, OH and I went to breakfast at the local carvery, and then we did a little shopping towards birthdays and parties, which helped me engage with the living as it were. Booked DS8 party too which was really good, we got the day and time we want and they apparently close the play area down just for us which will be great for the group we are taking.

I then slept this afternoon, before attending a meeting at DD6 school to consult on homework, can I just say I am fed up of being asked to consult when its clear that the decision has been made and that I can have no influence in the outcome at all.

Tomorrow the family are gathering to organise and plan - I am not invited, well I may be but they will pass a message via my mother and she will tell them I am busy!! But I dont care I was there at the time when I wanted to be and he knew I was there that is all that matters.

I popped into Ald! earlier and was pleasantly surprised that they are now selling dog food sacks (10kg) - I usually have to travel to L!dl.

I so agree with all you say in your post elizabunny.

One can only imagine and not succeed in guessing how you are feeling Softstuff.

And with all the arrangements that have to be made any resemblance of normality(whatever that is)take any time for a rest and some peace whenever you are able Kidcat. Even the smallest things and even if it is only for a few minutes...

Though I do believe that animals are unable to speak and think as we do, they do feel emotions, occasionally I do sometimes wonder if they have the better deal because as far as we know, they don't think about life as we do and as deeply. Then again our perception could be totally wrong.

So they can cough up and donate. O and A are the most common groups around

The husband is O+ and I'm A+, so gawd knows what our boys are. I know my Mum is AB.

Tell them to google away or talk to the Red Cross. One parent A and one parent O usually results in an A child.

    Did they fail Biology?
