That they can make a tea more healthy than coffee and the teas we have now but you make it out of coffee leaves:eek:
I drink rooibos (redbush) tea, which is a herbal tea that tastes a lot like tea but is naturally caffeine free. I started drinking it when i did a detox years ago and couldn't do without my tea, but liked it so much I carried on.
I am currently in Sri Lanka (for work - not as much fun as you might think, except for the weather, I am going to get a shock on Sunday when I get home and it will be 30+ degrees lower) which as the former Ceylon might be said to be one of tea's natural homes. I have had one cup so far - and that was DarjeelingAnd, my goodness, if we think we have it tough - I have seen so much poverty in the 2 days I have been here. People living in shanty towns, selling or begging on the street, a strange juxtaposition of sparkly new glass bank buildings next to a hovel of a shop (or looks it) that is selling a few bunches of bananas. I found myself haggling today over 200 rupees - only to remember that it is £1, which means a lot more to some poor beggar (almost literally) than it does to me.
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Hi VJsMum, hope you manage to get some free time in Sri Lanka, it's such a beautiful place, but yes a lot of poverty, particularly all the maimed beggars. : (0

Thanks VJsMum
Heard of Redbush, did not realise it was a herbal tea of sorts.
Yes mixed feelings regarding the situation where you are no doubt and I guess we should be thankful even when it seems tough over here in comparison...
I don't have to go out. I don't need anything and it is horrible(even though a lot of the snow has cleared, for now)and yet I am having such a battle with myself regarding staying in. I am determined to put...
Tomorrow I have a reason to go out to the music club on the town...and the weather may improve(I hope)
I like my own company, I like listening to the radio and yet seem to get a little stir crazy these days...I didn't use to. Maybe that will improve in time...

Too much of the kind of situation Lisa and Katie have happen lately with work goes on...no wonder so many get cheesed off even if it is something they enjoy."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Thanks for the info about the radio Pops, I find I enjoy it a lot more than the television to be honest. I remembered the blues music was on tonight after I said I couldn't remember lol
Getting settled in for the evening and I think its stopped raining, but the wind is howling down the chimney now. At least its nice and warm in here with the fire burning brightly.“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. Its been v cold here today and that is with all the extras I do to stay warm...think I may have to disappear under the duvet altogether...that usually works...
Paul Jones who presents that programme(ex lead singer with Manfred Mann)appears the day after my birthday at a local theatre in May...I have a ticket. So even if everything becomes diificult I only have to find the bus fare. Unless by then I have been allowed a bus pass of some kind to save on fares. Some other well known members of MM and others of the time are appearing with him.

LISA - so cross on your behalf that sounds so unfair and none of it is of your making!!! Go for the application on the next opportunity, it flags up at the very least that you are keen for the chance to take on a more demanding and responsible position. Hugs to you and hope you come to terms with it quickly, chin up pet!!!
KATE will be thinking of you tomorrow, enjoy!!!!!
It's jolly cold here this evening, had cold rain but that stopped mid afternoon so the lurcher and his Mumi at least got dry walkies today. We have overcast sky so I don't think it will freeze tonight but it is that penetrating damp cold and I'm glad to have the woodfire to curl up beside, that is, if I can shift the dog!!! Stay safe all of you and as warm as you can, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Pops do try and eat and more than carbs, we eat a variety of foods, even fish which my partner can't stand.
2tonsils - glad to see you back!
kidcat - great news with the referral. bout time to!
lisa - what a total balls up  so angry for you.
I am well and truly shattered and in splinters.Went to the safeguarding meeting today and it was very informative. The two people who asked questions about bullying, travel to school were very good and actually took notice.
They said tomorrow they were meeting heads of school in m'boro to discuss practices. I told OH what i said about bullying, and he about time. I hope the headteacher finally pulls they finger out and does something about it. He also told me to keep out of it if some witchhunt starts at the school looking for the snitch. we discussed children walking out of schools, escorts for buses and support for children with special needs. But the general theme was with the lack of support and communication between school and parents alike. so hopefully something good will come out of it. If not well we tried.
Went to musclosleketal clinic and what a fat load of rubbish it was too, just like i thought. The supposed GP with an "interest in bones" was of no help. Instead he just twisted my legs and said oh i think you should have go orthopedics. When pressed for a reason for my lack of mobility in such a short period of time. He said muscle atrophy and when i asked what caused it he said he didn't know and said the loss of feeling in my legs was unusual but nothing to worry about. So now its a waiting game. Just wish my OH could have with me but he was working, luckily he picked me up with the wheelchair. He was fuming when i told him what was said.
The parents evening at ds2's school went okay and got to the bottom of the lack of support. Turns out it wasn't only meant to be filler for christmas. The teacher also said ds2 told her about his project using using pictures which she encouraged as she wanted it to be fun for him before xmas. She also went to say he did much more work than others in his class. She just wishes he could put it on paper and he is steadily improving. So it went well but still areas to improve, OH got heavily involved which was good.
In the end we got snow and it looked so nice to, its turning to ice now, not good. Its weird we have a mixture of sleet, snow and rain.
Just going to keep an eye out on the weather an fingers hopefully have a lift for fuddle for the school run.

Kez worry not, I've got DH in the morning and he has to do the pick up anyway because my Internet is being installed
thanks though!
Well, little car is mine.we just have to pay for it but that isn't a problem thanks to our guardian angel
it's 2001 plate white Citroen Saxo. The body work is sound other than a few scratches, tyres fine and taxed and MOT'd till August. The clutch has now been replaced and tomorrow it will have a service. DH can go fishing all he likes if it means he makes contacts like that
insurance minimal and was savvy in finding one with breakdown cover for a few £'s per month.
I have been doing some soul searching today. I've asked myself what the blazers it is I want to do with my life. For so long now I've flitted from idea to idea and not getting anywhere. This afternoon it came down to 4 options: midwifery, community nursing, paediatric nursing or teaching. The only problem is they all require university education. So I've been browsing in this darn phone to work out if there's any financial help for uni students and I think we'll be ok. I would like to go with paediatric nursing, still working with childrenso I have a two pronged approach 1) work out whether my NNEB diploma in nursery nursery (apparently equivalent to 2 A-levels I had no idea!) with 90 OU points (psychology) and 7 GCSE grade C (inc English and maths) will be appropriate to at least apply for a place in Septemeber. If not, I've emailed my local college for information regarding the adult Access to Higher Education. Those wheels have given me a little bit of freedom although where I've moved to is only a few miles from local colleges and the university. I'm settled. I know what I want now. Fingers crossed for me - where there's a will there's a way huh?
