Caught up... all relatively quiet on this front. Pops, see you on Tue at the club, you missed a good night last week. Fuddle, college haircuts, the R'side college is where I did my Maths teacher's course in 09-10, so I know it well. The health and beauty dept looked very swish, it was near the cafe on the ground floor, iirc, across from the main building.
My new Terry Pratchett is taking ages to read thanks to MSE threads.. better than many a novel. I can read 2-3 books a day on song, but with having to read and write so much for work that's gone by the board.
Thanks for all your posts. :0)Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Hi All,
Can't add to the tooth stories...except I had lovely teeth...now many are missing/broken and I will at some point require what remains removing and get used to dentures:(and I need fixing down under too(TMI)
Managed some sleep but had some weird dreams earlier that some dream expert would have fun explaining. I think Mum and Dad put in a small appearance but the rest:eek:can't decide if it was just weird or a nightmare. And now I am starting to forget it anyhow.
It's probably all to do with a mixed week I have ahead which may/may not as bad or good as I fear.
I have two nice evenings tonight/tomorrow away from worries...a light classical music concert(booked ages ago)and a really fun night at the music club with Andrea.
But today and tomorrow it is major tidy and clean up time but it is going reasonably well. A visit to the Dr's to chase up the medical information he promised so I can send in to accompany the forms I filled in just before Christmas about my benefits and just as the controversy has happened over the change in child benefit, I like many am caught up in the system as many will be regarding other changes.
All I can do is keep fingers crossed and hope all will be well as many others will be doing.
Then Wednesday the housing association call to tell me of the changes and discuss matters, well whatever happens I know I will be worse off financially so they'll not be telling me something I am not expecting.
How I survive or don't depends somewhat on how things go with the first problem and the forms.
Lets get passed Wednesday and see where we go from there. Its funny how such a visit will be giving bad news but their letter ends by saying "I look forward to seeing you":p
Right enough about that, we are all coping and finding our way through many problems of our own, all as important.
No wonder my sleep was disturbed and why I am awake now...

I had two bowls of my stew from my slow cooker yesterday and so much gravy remains(with the goodness of the veg in it)I am going to decant it into a container and for the first time in ages I may do a traditional meal on a dinner plate(veg, sliced meat and potatoes)warm the gravy.
So I am getting into eating again I guess but as much of what I eat is mainly vegetable based my calorific value will always be within the amounts I should be eating daily or quite low and I find that one meal is enough.
I don't know how big his meals are or what he eats but there is an American General and he is no longer in the army but he still has only one meal each day.:p
At least I am not hungry...nor starving...it reminds me a bit of these diets and plans that we have heard a lot, such as the 5/2 plan or alternate days eat more or less...
Though I think spreading food intake over the day regularly smaller portions can work too if that can be worked into the daily routine.

Morning! Its back to school day here and the children are getting ready.....and taking there own sweet time about it! But they are at secondary school so no need to take them myself thank goodness. Little one and i will do some reading practice and writing practice later when she wakes up.
And then peace will descend for a few hours.0 -
Just getting a bit of daylight here, it will be lovely when there is more light than dark in the days.:)
We are taking the Grandchildren to the coast today, they are back to school tomorrow. Hoping we have time for a bit of park playing and a mini train ride before the rain hits us. Then lunch somewhere before we return them to their respective Mams. The thinking is that a bit of sea air and some physical exercise will knock them out early tonight. It's hard getting back to normal hours after being off for so long.
I have changed the keypad on my phone from the 'qwerty' one to one that looks like my old phone keypad. Still odd to use but as yet I have not 'honked' :rotfl:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
That sounds lovely Meme and a day to remember. I'm sure even if it is a bit chilly and everyone has to wrap up it will still be enjoyable..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Morrrnniiiinnnnggggg
DS has gone off to school - stoically, considering both his sister and his dad are still in their pits. OH has usually gone to work by now but had a dreadful night for some reason and has decided not to leave until 9.30. I will take him some coffee in a bit to wake him up. DD has another day off and has invited herself out to my lunch with a friend (friend is DDs godmother so very understanding, but DD does have that "I-am-a-teenager-so-it's-all-about-me" thing going on. OT but did anyone see the letter printed somewhere or another yesterday where someone recalled their diary entry for a day in July 1969 "went to club. Dave was there but he didn't look at me. Wore my red skirt and blue top. I think Nigel has a crush on me - urgh. Man landed on moon" :rotfl:). DD is then off to watch the Hobbit again at the cinema.
I have floors to mop and then the house is once again clean and tidy. Until nearly a year ago i had a cleaner, but when she left for full time work, I decided not to replace her but pay myself when I've done it. That money goes into the holiday fund. I tell you - I don't get paid nearly enoughIt is still a saving as I'm afraid it doesn't get done weekly like it used to, though it is probably done more thoroughly now.
So "healthy-eating-and-exercise" starts today. I want to lose about a stone - can't say exactly as I am too afraid to weigh myselfI know I will have to at some point. Lunch with friend will be a bowl of M&S tomato soup and half a muffin. I shall go out for a walk later to walk off some of the muffin. I did the great North Run 18 months ago but have done very little running since. I will increase the walking to see how the dicky Knees hold out before starting to run again. we are having a leftovers for everyone tea so I can chose the healthier options of those.
Have a nice day all - got a floor to mop and laundry to juggle.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
What is that sound i hear? The sound of silence! 12 and 15 year olds have gone to school, 5 year old is still snoozing in my bed and cousin is still snoozing in her nest on 5 year olds bedroom floor (the camp bed she was using got broken by little brother last week).
I am going to pull out the downstairs storage cupboard today so i cna put the christms tree and the decorations away properly. It may take some time as it is a large cupboard. Please send a rescue party if i dont return!0 -
Ok, week 2 in the couch to 5km, and it ramped up. Didn't think I'd manage it, thought I was going to keel over half way, but did it anyway. Will be glad in three months or so when jogging is not quite this....er...deadly feeling!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

I need to lose weight as well with a BMI of 25.5 but do you know what? Stuff dieting!! So there! If my clothes get tight I will cut back for a couple of days - sort of intermittent fasting approach. And I will make sure I get enough exercise to keep mobile. Otherwise I will just accept that at 59 I don't owe it to anyone to be slim. Actually I have lost half a stone without noticing since the summer, so my clothes are comfy at the moment and I'm sure it's down to just eating when I want to and what I want to - it turns out that I often don't want to, especially round lunchtime, so reduce my calories without thinking about it.It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
