If you like almonds mince pies are lovely with a blob of marzipan at the bottom. Must make mine and freeze them. Usually I'd freeze uncooked but since they'll be going on a minimum 4 hr journey they will have to be cooked this time.

Weather today is sunny spells and tiny bit rain and cloud, not very warm well its about 8 outside and 21 degrees in , so better off in than out....
Ive been to drs this morning and had a very painful injection again in my foot:eek:....I really am fed up with this awful pain all the time, and im hoping that it may cure it this time, mind you I said that the last 2 injections I had for my feet........

It will be very cold in the next day or two , so all get your thermals out at the ready, ive been prepared for this since last year, cos one thing for certain we get winter every year...........My gas and elec is in credit and I have enough coal to last for 8 or 9 weeks.................

Im not doing much today,dr said rest my feet, so thats my excuse for today............Hope your all well and warm....Sheila

Kittie - the army is on the dole cos they got rid of them!
Shegar, my eldest son has this pain too, has steroid injections and ops on both feet and nothing has helped. It would be ok if he could rest a lot but he works 12 hour shifts as a security officer and its killing him. But there are no other jobs out there. Hope it works for you this time pet, miracles do happen xxx

That made for some distressing reading :( It's people like you and me. Ordinary people crawling out of their windows into a life raft. Beggars belief :( We are mere mortals living in a world that is so unpredictable... but i've heard so many times these past few days 'flood defences, this, all hail the flood defences' but what about the areas that are being sacrificed for these defended populated areas. I think that many places aren't defended because the water has gotta go somewhere!

How many RNLI boats were used in the evac this morning do we know? The lady wading to the life raft chest deep. That water level would kill my girls. Bliddy heck
  • omg my stomach is churning over, I so hopping mad with the government, if london was flooded they would have all the resources out there.

The RNLI are volunteers, thats all. They put their lives at risk for NO PAY. Fuddle I am fuming, yes they are all ordinary people like us

yes that is what really got to me. If that woman had slipped!! The gov should take over some hotels to put these poor people up, thats the least they should do. Re the flood defences, yes I`m with you on that fuddle, the water is going straight to other populated areas

Nothing I can do, so I gotta calm down
