Evening all
I have come down with another dose of the lurgy and am feeling poo at the moment. It's only a viral thing but I get one after the other at this time of the year and it seems never ending. DH is off work this week so at least everyone is getting fed. Dinner tonight was meat feast pizzas brought from the freezer section of Mr T's. I'm going to try teaching him how to use the washing machine and tumble drier tomorrow.....wish me luck please.
I'm meant to be making cake for Knit and Natter tomorrow, so I've managed to make one and have told DS2 that if he makes another one he can have half. I'm a cunning Mom sometimes
With regards to insurance, I can recommend Barclays. It's not the cheapest out there, but when we were burgled earlier in the year they were really good. They replaced everything without question and had someone out the same day to change all the locks.
Time for more lemsip.
Take care everyone xxxx0 -
SDG ((hugs)) I may follow your lead with the cakes, I need some for group on Thursday but am busy on Wednesday - I may see if DS14 will make a couple of batches tomorrow for me0

Oh. My. God. I've just finished stuff for the market tomorrow. We decided to run with a smaller stock than we do normally, rather than duck out entirely, as DD wasn't available until after 2.30 and I'm not at my best. I've got seven things instead of the normal 10-12.
It's really quite surprising how many times a day you drop things and need to pick them up...you don't realise until you can't bend down
I managed to wash my hair - don't know how, and when I've got my breath back and watched Masterchef, I need to have a bath...that could be verrry interesting! I suspect I may get in, but not be able to get out!

Thank you kidcat and Byatt I avoid antibotics as much as possible as they upset other parts of my system and only take them when absolutely necessary. I agree that they are over prescribed and we are heading to trouble with regards to resistant infections.
DS2 has made a vanilla sponge and vanilla buttercream to go on top of it. He is now desparately waiting for it to cool so he can eat as much as I will let him get away with. 13 year old boys are walking dustbins.0 -
I need 24 muffins making - DS14 could then have four max! would give me 12 apple and cinnamon and 12 banana and chocolate for group! DS says he will consider it0

Re last minute xmas eve bargains, I'm not risking what's left of my sanity by trying to get into that rugby scrum for bargains - happy to pay full price and have it delivered to my doorstep weeks in advance
I like to pop out late afternoon on Christmas Eve here. The supermarket is almost dead except for the sound of the reducing price labeller! Reminds me I must empty a drawer in the freezer before then.
Pain seems to have spread to my tongue. I vote for sending me to the glue factory frankly, this is getting silly.
Insurance wise we think of what an item is worth, then double it. We didn't pay list price for anything in here, but might have to if it were replaced. In addition our contents insurance covers the kitchen cupboards, the floors and the air-con (this is because the complex our apartment is in does the buildings insurance and they don't cover those), worth checking on policies what you're actually covering.
Off to the charity shop to be useful for the day.
Would anyone be interested in a gyoza (Japanese potsticker) recipe later? Not sure if the gyoza wrappers are available that easily over there and I sure wouldn't like to try making my own. Made some last night and think I've finally perfected the recipe, hubby certainly thought so.
Love to all, especially those un-bouncy ones.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I love gyoza Softstuff but the wrappers are only available mail order or in specialist oriental supermarkets, none of which are near me.0
