£500 just to go round and round my mum says fuddle
Kitchen Aid. Is a mixer you can get them in bright colours I got a mincer and pasta maker for Myne room I love it. It's an amazing amrican make really robust and fab :jI have dyslexia so I apologize for my spelling and grammar0 -
Jem you really are a lucky lady, I love my kitchen aid. I bought one second hand a few years ago really cheap but then the motor went and would've been really expensive to fix. I was soooooo upset because it got used all the time.
My fab mum saved up and bought me a brand spanking new one in bright yellow. I called her phyllis, and she works very hard for me
she makes fabulous pizza dough. i really want a mincer/grater attachment for her but that's way down on the list of where my money needs to go!
I am so glad that someone else has named their Kitchenaid. Mine is cream and is called Daisy DarlingI love her to bits. I recommend getting the paddle attatchment with the silicon scraper edge so you don't have to keep scraping down the bowl.
I have tried to do rubber chicken, but my lot look at me like I've gone mad when only given a small portion of chicken with a roast dinner. I have to buy a huge chicken to end up with leftovers.
The pulled pork has had 3 1/2 hours and is smelling incredible. I made DS2 make it as he wants some to take into school. I was going to have a lazy day, but a friend has had a tough week so I've invited her around for dinner. DH has asked for lemon surprise pudding for dessert so need to find a recipe for that.
Take care xxxx0 -
Chipps that's a great bargain coat.
Jem I love Kitchen Aids. i haven't been brave enough to test my Kenwood after it jumped onto the floor.
Fuddle - value baby bath here too. Just decant it into whatever container you usually use if you think they're going to make a fuss, that's what I do with value soap/shower gel too. I couldn't use bar soap in the shower, I'd constantly be dropping it. Luckily DH has transformed from the brand loyal man he used to be and is generally very supportive now - at least he will try things with an open mind now, it didn't always used to be that way.
Went to see Nativity - what a lovely film, and made me feel very Christmassy. On the way home we stopped off at the garden centre where they always have the most wonderful Christmas displays, to buy the children's baubles. They'll have one a year and take them for their own tree when they're grown up.0 -
I've been looking into how to make my own olive oil soap but to be honest the whole soap making process scares the bejezuz out of me. Possession i'll do that with the girls, that's a good idea.0

Wah hey im now the proud owner of a laptop, which hubby gave me the money for my birthday.........Ive finally given up my old fesk with a huge monitor, we bought the old one 9 yrs ago and it only cost £249 back then , with tower.......
I know im way behind with the times and very old fashioned but I didnt think much of it cos the old one did the job, but I couldnt move it around........For the life of me I couldnt get use to pressing the pad to get around, so I went to the puter shop this morning and got a wireless mouse, I didnt even know they made them..:eek:, stop laughing at me........Yea youve guessed it my mobile is 8 years old and its huge, but why pay £200 for a modern one, this one works perfect, and I dont need cameras, emails etc on it, its a old slide up one........
Well ive lit my fire and I can actually sit with my laptop facing the fire now, so thats a bonus........
Weather was !!!! today, cloudy, drizzly, and dank, sunday will be very sunny but cold, I can handle the cold as long as its sunny, lift my spirits,,,,,,,sheila0 -
:question:Stupid question alert! If I buy growing herbs from the supermarket will they continue to grow indefinitely on the window sill?
Well, yes, fairly indefinitelyAnd in the spring/summer, you can plant most of them out as well. My flat leaf parsley from around April is still happily producing leaves in the raised bed - in fact I picked some today for the fish cakes I am making

I have bought YS herbs from supermarkets & kept them alive for ages. They just needed re-potting & looking after & they were fine0

I've been reading that adding a teabag to the herb pot can act as a fertiliser. I'll try it with some basil. I always need basil.0

Possession - glad you enjoyed the film, it's nice isn't it....I'm looking forward to the new one. We have the same tradition with DDs and a new decoration ever year, you can almost tell how old they were when they brought each one. We've gone from glittery teddy bears to pink sparkly things, black gothic things to more traditional....we have decs we brought in Disneyland Paris last year and the year before and all the ones they made at school. Their trees will look a right hotchpotch when they eventually leave home but the memories in each item are priceless. We're heading out tomorrow to buy this years. It's a lovely tradition to carry on. DD1 has written several versions of a Christmas story to read on Christmas eve too, I've saved all of them and even now we all pile into our bed on Christmas eve bedtime and read all of them and "the night before Christmas" book. I can see us still doing it when they're in their 40s!
Had a lovely bath with my Epsom salts earlier, my skins feels lovely and soft and I felt quite energised when I got out. Now going to slob infront of the fire with my crochet, a glass of wine and something mellow on the stereo (and probably fall asleep)."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C.
