    Still trying to be frugal...
  • 23 paged in 3 days . Have managed to catch up but too much has happened to comment on individuals.

Fridge has died on us, have managed to get one reasonably cheaply from Commet, MR VP is arranging for it to be collected tomorrow. Just waiting to see what other equipment gives up the ghost next. Not what we need now Mr VP is jobless.

Cannot believe that I have managed to stay up so late tonight but reading this site is like a good book, once you start you cannot stop.

    Evening all

I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Thank you for all your good wishes for Rummy and for the suggestions too. His owners also bred him at their stud, so he is very special. So many years of planning, wishing and hoping.

Fuddle:- Am so pleased for you, now best get packing, you have not got long to go. :)

Byatt:-Love the fire, I bet you had a lovely time playing with it last night. If it make you feel more comfortable in your home then that's a real bonus. :j

MrsVP:-Bless you! just what you did not need! I hope you and MrVP are ok and coping alright with your troubles. Loss of work is a huge thing to come to terms with. :grouphug:

Smiley:- Loving the dog tail wagging. :) It's been two years since our last dog died and I'm still looking round for her. Your dog stories fill a warm space in my heart. Thank you. :heartpuls

I'm off to see my sister-in-laws today. Since their parents died we take turns to host a 'sisters lunch' once a month. It's the first time we have got together since our latest bad news so it's going to be emotional. On the good side I am taking my two week old granddaughter to meet her gaggle of Aunties, so they will have her to 'coo' over. Sort of dreading and looking forward to it, if you know what I mean. :)
Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”

Well done Fuddle, I'm more of a lurker than a poster, and it was hard to type with my fingers crossed whilst you were going through the credit check :)

Oh Mrs L, I'm not a religious person in any way at all but I do love the sound of that music! Have a lovely spiritually uplifting time pet xxx
GQ, I am totally honoured to know somebody so posh she irons her hankies!
I canny keep up with you lot, you all talk too much. I am not ready for xmas, not ready for hogmanay, and just generally NOT READY!!
:p:) Yeah, get me, LOL. But said hankie had a wear hole in the edge and will do one more outing before being relegated to the cleaning rags. So not posh at all.:rotfl:

I do like cloth hankies. I buy them in c.s. and at bootfairs, new in the boxes, as long as they're 100% cotton. Don't have any truck with cotton rich as it's an outrageous idea. I have monogrammed ones. I never seem to find ones with MY initial one, tho!

Erm, I have good news :D We're definitely moving on the 15th! :j:j Better still, we passed the credit check (DH had 1 refer but I suspected as one creditor still has a default marked on our file instead of marking it settled but they've said it's not at all a problem) so it feels good to have got it off our own back and not via a favour from the LL. I know it doesn't at all matter as we're moving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but it matters to me with the feelings of rebuilding.

Wow. Thank you for trying to keep my feet on the ground. I know it's been difficult. :o
:j:j:j:j Go, Fuddle! Oh, I'm soooo pleased to hear that news, you've earned a break. No more moldy house, yayyyy!!!!!!!!!:j:j:j

PiC jumbles sales, eh? TWO jumble sales...........ooooooh, envy envy. This morning I shall foray into a trad hardware store. Love the place but it is a den of temptation. My reason for visiting is perfectly legitimate but I will have to poke into all the nooks and crannies whilst I'm in there........could be bad news for the budget.

Wll, I've been up since 6 ish and have done nothing more than catch up on MSE and drink tea so better fix brekkie, drink more tea, catch up on the newspaper sites then hit the shop.

Hope everyone has a good day- it's raining here so unless it clears there'll be no allotmenteering for me today. Never mind, plenty of stuff to do at the homestead as I'm prepping for next week's redecoration (the exciting things I do with my annual leave..............)

Nice blue skies and sun here, but temp is to drop later on. I didn't even think of approved foods and I was looking for tea bags and biccies for the comfort boxes aka hampers for the family pressies. They don't often have stuff that we eat but for this time of year it's worth a visit.. Thought this place was supposed to stop us spending not enable us !
The RV has just changed a tap washer and is going on as if he'd climbed the Matterhorn while fighting off a pack of polar bears.. and wimmen on here do it every day! LOL
