What a lovely picture of the doggies cuddling up on the sofa :)

Had a busy day, OH headed to the hospital while I took the car in for it's major service. They told me yesterday it would be two hours and when I took it in at ten to nine he told me to pick it up at 12.30...when I pointed out that was three and a half hours he shrugged and said this is Greece. So I pointed out that is one of the many reasons they are bankrupt... In the end he charged me half of what it cost last time it had a major service so I was very pleased. They even changed the side light bulbs and only charged me 2 euros for them.

OH just had the padding checked and got put on antibiotics for six days. He has to go back tomorrow to see the specialist for Ear, nose and throat. We still don't know what caused the terrible nose bleeds but suspect the sinus/chest virus he had for three weeks recently.

I gave up on getting to the gym anytime soon, I am too busy running all over the place trying to get things done. Sometime this week I have to get our accountant to print out the car tax payment form as the tax office have decided not to send them out and not to issue tax discs in order to save money. The police will have internet links to see if you have paid or not. Hmmmm

I bought lots of baking stuff cheap in Lidl yesteday, sprinkles and decorations for the top of cakes, angelica, cherries and chocolate curls....all of which are usually very expensive here but I got them at 99 cents for big boxes of them. They are usually around 2.99 for a small carton. I also got ground hazelnuts and walnuts which they haven't had in for ages. It seems their manager wisely decided that we would all need to make our own goodies this Christmas instead of buying ready made.

I also got frozen strawberries and raspberries and they are really nice, full of flavour. I will save some to make trifle as well as flans and to have with my Greek yogurt for breakfast (real Greek yogurt made with Goat milk or sheep milk).

Right, off to make some apple and cinnamon muffins, syrup cakes and hazelnut meringues or macaroons..... we were due a power cut this morning for six hours but it never happened...so hoping it doesn't go off halfway through my baking!

Well isn't that just typical Byatt!! although TBH I don't spend anywhere near £60 per week and would probably save more than that shopping at Aldi rather than Mr T anyway.
  • BYATT - Bess is a beautiful girl, hoping that all goes well for her today and that you are coping with the worry. With you in spirit as is Doc with Bess, Chin up, Lyn xxx.
  • Byatt. Lovely pic. I do love seeing heaps of large dogs.

Fuddle. How about doing dinner on cushions on the floor this year as a bit of an adventure?
  • FUDDLE - Do you know anyone who has a garden table or wallpaper table that they might be able to lend you over christmas, wallpaper one would be useful as it would fold up out of the way when not in use, it's winter so the garden furniture would probably not be in use either. The only other option I can come up with and it is weather dependent would be to have a christmas barbeque which might be fun, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Shegar, have a fab day, hope you get to put your feet up for a while.

Just been to pick Dd and Dgs up from one of his playgroups and am stocked up on kisses for the day. Off to put more valuable collectibles on fleabay - see junk can be valuable. Fish pie on the menu for tea, I have been collecting various pieces of fish and a cheap bags of prawns so quite a luxury meal and one for the freezer of course !

Popped on the local market and got a kilo of madeira cake for 75p again. the chap on the bread stall said footfall has increased in a year by 6,000 even thoug its next to Mr T. Seems that people are realising there are bargains on the market, thank goodness because I feared it would close.

I gave ours to my son when his gave up the ghost - we're having one of those wee christmas villages instead, on a coffee table decked out in xmassy stuff. I used to put the tree up 1st Dec too.
