So pleased Stiltwalker:T Have a lovely weekend x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Oh no OH has just come home, declared he's been sick twice this morning and passed out in bed :(

Do I ask my mum to take LO overnight tonight to make sure he doesn't get it? (Could spend tomorrow bleaching the house too before he comes home). Or do I brave bringing him home today? There's no way I can do any cleaning today, got no where near enough energy :(

Thanks FUDDLE, in the cold light of day we are decidedly alternative and I get the feeling they are very conventional, someone who knows us quite well says we are the people from 'The Good Life' and I'm not sure how they'll see us, ageing hippies is somewhere very close to the truth, harmless though and certainly benign to most things. We'll be OK I'm sure but first meetings are always a little un-natural with everyone on thier best behaviour and a little stilted, we're taking our boy with us, he's a wonderful ice breaker, you can't be uncheered with a Lurcher can you? Cheers Lyn xxx.

How can anyone with a lurcher clever enough to write posts to his friends be considered alternative?

After all, the The Good Life it was Tom and Barbara who got our sympathies. Did anyone envy Jerry's commute or Margo's dealings with Miss Mountshaft and the music society:rotfl: they had their happiest Christmas when Jerry had 'diplomatic' mumps or some such disease and the 'bought in ' Christmas wasn't delivered. (Sorry to those not old enough to remember but there are lots of repeats and this series never ages).

Yeh Stiltwalker! just in time for your trip. I was brought up in the villages surrounding Digger Land. Enjoy your stay in Durham, 'tis a beautiful City... one that having moved a little south I'm actually missing. I wish you all a lovely time celebrating little stiltwalker's birthday. :)

    Peanut, oh oh.

I'm old enough ;) just :p I remember watching it when I was little. I thought Tom and Barbara were normal growing up as our lawn was dug up by my dad to grow leeks for the working men's leek show. I remember asking for pigs but got a rabbit instead. Dad used to usher me 'off to work' to pick dandelions to feed the rabbit. My first lesson in caring, working an providing I guess. Oh man, if I hadn't have lost my dad at 10 I would have been so different!

Right LO is staying put with Nanny and Grandad until tomorrow afternoon / evening.

I'm thinking the best bet is to spend today resting up and then Ill attack the house with disinfectant tomorrow. Both bathrooms, kitchen, door handles, remote controls, phones and laptops. Also boil wash all towels, bedding and clothes we've worn.

Can anyone think of anything else?

Hoping OHs passes quickly as meant to be going away first thing Sunday morning :(

Here's a question, once the sickness has halted for say 12 hours is it safe to start cleaning? I don't want to clean if he's still germy. Lol.

    Does that make sense?

Hugs to all who feel ill. And other problems. Another day of tidying up. Phoned the council to ask where can I/do I get rid of old video tapes. Would like to keep them but they are out of fashion, mainly home taped. I don't use a VCR so out they go.

I was told to put them in the wheelie bin but its full and as its an alternative collection fortnightly with recycled stuff they won't go until two weeks from now.

And no they won't take an extra couple of bags of rubbish, just whats in the bin...the people who called from the HA should actually be happy I am clearing the house the way I am. I am even throwing out items many homes have and would be seen as normal for making a life more comfortable. They seem harder on me...

Good job I don't buy much in the way of ornaments/pictures and the like that cause clutter.

ETA...caught the refuse van/sweet talked the refuse collectors with a hard luck story but it was true. And they let me put the videos in the bin after the first was emptied so they've gone:)

The recycled bin is almost full ready for next week. The difference with that collection is they will take extra bags. Normally I put out so little rubbish there are weeks where my bins are not emptied.

So once I finish the bathroom(where I pulled stuff into for quickness)the house is tidy as planned before the visit and as promised when they were here. Pity they came on the day they did.

May wait now until they call again and they see that all is spick and span but may then add I was unhappy with how I was treated and wish to register my feelings.

I am still determined to get out this weekend to a big food festival in Tynemouth, not planning on spending much just trying to get out. I will have to travel 3 hours in both directions. Never been there before and looking forward to seeing the coast as much as anything. Some sun would be nice but as long as it doesn't rain it should be ok.
