Does that make sense?
To be perfectly honest with you I don't bother with anything other than where the fluids land, ie sink/bowl/bucket/loo, they all get a liberal bleach and hot water slosh each time. It's never even occurred to me to start on light switches and door handles.
Hope you're all on the mend soon. We haven't had a sickness bug in the house for years now, thank god, but I can vividly remember the very lethargic bit afterwards, take care and keep your little one away as long as you can."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I have just submitted an application for an allotment. I am not holding me breath as I suspect scores will be on the list but maybe in 5 yeas or so I'll be lucky
Until then I will continue with my pots.0 -

I seem to be hearing about lots of broken bones at the moment, including a friend's 84 yr old mum who broke her ankle, didn't go to hospital for 3 days cos she thought nothing was wrong, and now thinks she's going to get better in 2 weeks cos she's so much fitter than 'those elderly people'. She is too, it wouldn't surprise me if she does! Bless her.
Here's a way to get pasta for 15p in Tesc* at the moment:

She's only 84, y'see.

I'm thinking the best bet is to spend today resting up and then Ill attack the house with disinfectant tomorrow. Both bathrooms, kitchen, door handles, remote controls, phones and laptops. Also boil wash all towels, bedding and clothes we've worn.
Can anyone think of anything else?
Hoping OHs passes quickly as meant to be going away first thing Sunday morningSorry to hear that your OH has gone down with the noro. I'd wipe down door handles and light switches, soap & hot water the hard surfaces in kitchen and the bathrooms and hot wash the bedlinen, towels and tea towels. Air the place, too, unless that's too uncomfortable for the poorlies.
Keep up with the handwashing as you go and try to get some rest as well.
Am breathing a sigh of relief on Mum's behalf. Her washer died last Thurs, new one chosen from a small indy retailer and was supposed to come yesterday, only it didn't. It was stuck on a truck on the far side of a traffic accident. And no call to explain where it was.
It came this afternoon, we all had a horrible moment thinking that mebbe the business had gone into liquidation and they'd absconded with my parents' cash. In which case I would have had to put my Scary Face (and knuckledusters) on and Made a Scene.
Folks had a narrow squeak a few years ago when buying something from a furniture store which they were able to take home as they had an estate car then. A few days later, they saw in the paper that the store had closed down and had been illegally trading whilst insolvent for several weeks, taking money for goods they damn well knew they couldn't deliver. It has an 11 kg drum (replacing a 5 kg drum) and muvver is a happy bunny. She was chatting to the delivery man about how her washer is set (plumbed out thru the wall separately, not into the pipework under the sink) and he was saying that's the best way if you can do it.
Oftentimes, he says, people are convinced that the pump on their washer has died when the pipe draining the water into the undersink pipe has blocked. I've just given mine a clean out and a 90 degree wash on empty with soda crystals in the drawer. That'll spruce her up.
Mum says it'll take a king size duvet. I have a king size duvet, funnily enough, the only person in the family who does........was that an invite to run it thru?
11 kg. That's a great toy, isn't it?Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I have heard tales that if you put household items at the end of your drive on show...they will disappear. I threw an old broken fridge freezer out within hours it was gone. The same thing happened with a stripped down computer case.
Today whilst clearing out I found a typewriter in its case in perfect order but I'll never use one again and we're all using word processors and PC's so I put that out and a pair of bathroom scales that work but needed cleaning. I have my new ones which I purchased a few weeks ago with a digital display and a fifteen year guarantee so they'll probably outlast me.
I had a look out a few minutes ago as I started to think I would have to bring them indoors for the evening and perhaps its not good to leave them out when I am away at the weekend. But they've gone!
If I'd been quicker I have an old bulky PC monitor that could have gone today but I did not manage to get it out and as it is raining now that is not good for electrical items(if there is a chance it could be used)So will attempt to get rid of that next week."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. It'll be scrap pops. Rife where I used to live. They'll be stripped back with innards discarded and metal weighed for money. DH was re-painting the garden gate (metal one) where we used to live and took it off its hinges to scrub down the blistered/rusted parts. Although gate was lying on the drive it was still on it's way across the raid and about to be hoyed on the back of a transit. Just pleased DH saw when he did because it would have been expensive to replace! Flaming cheek!
Aw cat-smith you're too kind.yeah we do it in a day. Only takes 3-4 hours plus 20 min ferry trip then only a few miles the other side. Been on A81 many a time visiting my sister in law in Stirling. She lived near Callendar.

By pure chance I have discovered that three of The Osmonds are doing a short tour of twelve dates in the UK this September and my local theatre is on the list, if I put £1 away weekly until their show I will have almost paid for the ticket and I won't miss it.
Unless I take ill suddenly and I know I need to have an op, I hope that I can live with the problem for at least another three months. I have so far!
So though all these are in their twilight years of performing, I have The Manfred's(members of the 60's band Manfred Mann)the day after my Birthday in May, in September The Osmonds that's Jimmy Jay and Merrill so I guess that only leaves Donny, Marie and Alan to see but doubt they'll appear locally(and I believe Alan is in poor health?)One of them is...and in October its another big 60's band, The Hollies.
I was disappointed in an earlier show which the Osmonds were in the cast. Well these three were scheduled to appear but they pulled out of the tour and it was because they were in it I went in the first place.
Something to look forward to."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

stiltwalker that is brilliant news
I applied for help with sensory equipment for DS14 yesterday - he is struggling still so I finally accepted it was necessary.
GQ - I have a 9kg machine and its incredible what I can manage with it.
Peanut - the rule of infection for noro in this area is all signs of sickness and diarrhea needs to be gone for 24hrs before its considered safe and no longer contagious - sorry0 -
Sat in a hotel room outside Durham with a nice glass of wine (I even remembered the proper glasses this time!) - DS asleep, DD pretending to be asleep but watching Daddy through her hair, DH surfing t'net and I am supposed to be writing my essay (giving 'voice' to children and young people in research anyone???) but skiving and catching up with you lot! Actually the essay is going ok, just not my idea of Friday night fun!
Had a good meal - DD got her rare steak and peppercorn sauce so she was happy.
Thought this was your neck of the woods Fuddle - it's only just over a hour and a half from us but DS's birthday was a good excuse for a mini break and we do like to have them to look forward to.
The new buggy is great so far - so much easier to manoeuvre, really looking forward to giving it a good run tomorrow.
Glad you have applied for some stuff Kidcat, it makes all the difference having the right kit, both for kids and for us. Cauldwell Children apparently do some great autism sensory packs (if that's not where you've applied) you do need to put some towards as it's 80% funding but a couple of families I'm in touch with through the dreaded FB (closed parent support group) have either applied or received them and they have been great.
Ok back to the essay.
Catch you later - hugs X0
