I take it the speed camera is the bollard thing on the right? If it's the man in orange sat on the road half hidden by some boards - then it's a terrible design!

But why is a July 2012 article using pictures that originally appeared on a 2007 German site followed by a Portugese 2009 site? I've even found a thread from Jan 2012 about speed cameras built in to crash barriers around Limoges.

So we now have a new type of speed camera, which only seems to be reported by the odd individual (no official mention of it even from the speed camera manufacturers) that is being deployed across Europe normally only at one single location? I don't think so, such a camera would have been deployed widely considering its revenue earning capacity.

I think it is a hoax that is slowly working its way around the net.

Have you got more info on them? And please expalin why everything that I have found about this 'camera' across 4 different countries only ever shows the 2 photos at the start of this thread. There are no other photos of this so called camera

It is interesting that these cameras seem to be scattered throiughtout Europe.So far there are reports of them in France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Belguim BUT there are only the two photos (and one of a car that looks as though it has been photoshopped). For such a radical change in speed camera type I would expect more than a smattering of internet articles on them rather than just the few from individuals which is all that I can find. I haven't yet found any European based speed camera notification sites that mention this type - they tend to mention all the other types that are in use.

I remain cynical and still believe that this is a hoax unless somebody can come up with something more definitive than the odd single blog or mention of them.

BTW what you quoted was originally on a German site in 2007 so even the exact wording is accompanying the photos
