Motorists - What annoys you most about cyclists

What annoys me is that with their improved phsyique, health and muscle tone they take a larger proportion of attractive females leaving an uglier selection of females for fat, angry and lazy male motorists with piles from sitting down too much to select from.
Love it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
I find aggressive driving by any road users unacceptable. Car drivers can be as bad as cyclists in this respect and I agree the over cautious driving.cycling can be just as bad.
For cyclists the sort of behavious I dislike is often exemplified by mountain bike riders who ride at speed along roads, jumping on and off pavements, weaving in and out of cars, making sharp turns from roads to cross pelicans whatever the lights say, sometimes crossing them in a way that is hazzardous to pedestrians, making sharp turns that cause cars to break and so on. A thoroughly anti-social breed, dangerous to pedestrians and challenging motorists. NOT suggesting all mountainbike riders do this.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
Hi,
To give a balance view I thought I'd start covering the other side of the fence.
Cyclists - Pay no road tax but expect the same rights as motor vehicle users
Cyclists - Consistently ride side by side just to be a pain the !!!
Cyclists - Get in the way.
Love the new forum keep up the good work!!
Nobody pays road tax, it does not exist (not since 1936). Council tax pays for the roads and most cyclists also drive cars.
When overtaking a cyclist the highway code states to give as much room as a car, therefore 2 cyclists is no different to 1.
Cyclists get in the way? I bet drivers get in the way more than cyclists, especially when your sat in traffic and they come sailing past. The only people that get in my way every single day are slow drivers.

So that means that if overtaking 2 cyclists riding side by side, you have to be a car's width away from the second one? Christ on some roads, you would be driving on the opposite footpath if that would be the case! Unless of course the cyclists have also read the highway code which says that they should ride in single file on busy or narrow roads.
But we all know that not many cyclist do read the highway code... you only have to see how many ride at night without lights, ride the wrong way down one-way streets, run red lights, ride on footpaths... etc etc etc, to prove that they don't.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

But motorists speed, motorists drive without due care, motorists are often aggressive for no good reason to cyclists.
And they have the potential to hurt cyclists much more than cyclists ever hurt them.
If you want the right to accuse us cyclists, you also need to sort your fellow motorists out!Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.0 -
1. They don't pay road tax - not only do they get to use car lanes but they also get special extra lanes.
2. Often on narrow roads they don't use their special lanes & use the car lane & hold car drivers up to 10 mph.
3. They don't think traffic lights or rules apply to them.
4. The weekend ones who think they are training for the Olympics & cycle 2 abreast (I hate these the most).
5. Some of them don't bother with lights after dark - more noticeable now with the dark evenings.0 -

With respect, I don't see no where as many motorists driving at night without lights, drive the wrong way down one-way streets, run red lights, drive on footpaths... etc etc etc as I do cyclists.
Yes, there are those motorists which do drive as you say. But if we were to make a comparison of how many cyclists (of all ages) break the law against an equal number of motorists, I reckon it would be the cyclists which would be the highest offenders.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. THERE IS NO ROAD TAX!!!
VED is a tax on owning a motorised vehicle, it has NOTHING to do with the roads AT ALL.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
