Beware - Bradford Bathroom Company

Redemption House Clifford Street Bradford, West Yorkshire BD5 0DP‎ 01274 270353 bradfordbathroomcompany dot com

I bought an item from Bradford Bathroom Company, not an expensive part, a ceiling / wall shower arm with an angle built in. Paid by paypal. Unfortunately the part was not suitable (for my customer), so I inquired by email about returning. Joe replied quickly saying to return it and included their return address. I was to take a 20% restocking charge hit as per their terms and conditions. I sent the item back and have a certificate of posting.

I have had no refund from the Bradford Bathroom Company. I have emailed 4 times, no response whatsoever. I even threatened to post my experience on every relevant forum on the web to one of the customer reps on the phone who proceeded to hang up on me. The whole customer service experience with this company can only be described as an abomination; I have found the Bradford Bathroom Company to be rude, aggressive and unhelpful.

Further, please see the trustpilot site for many, many more occurrences of appalling customer service by this terrible company.

  • I ordered a toilet and was contacted a few days later by the courier to say that it would be delivered, but they didn’t show up. I tried for nearly a week to contact the Bradford Bathroom company to find out what had happened and they didn't get back to me, so I put a dispute in with PayPal.
It is their company policy to cancel the delivery of anyone who puts a dispute in with PayPal. Every time I subsequently spoke to someone to arrange delivery, I was told, usually in a very rude manner, how this situation was completely my fault because I put in a dispute.
This company never once tried to contact me. They were rude and I never received a toilet and so had to put in a claim with PayPal to get my money back.
  • I too would avoid this company. We ordered a shower mixer for our bathroom as we were giving our bathroom a facelift. The order process was easy, the unit was cheap and it arrived on time. However, when our plumber came to fit the unit, it was faulty.

I dealt with Melanie from the Bradford Bathroom Company who said that it was not their problem, but the manufacturer's problem. She informed me that it was likely that our plumber had not installed it correctly and/or had damaged the unit. She insisted that I needed to get my plumber back out to the property to run through a diagnostics process with the manufacturers over the telephone (obviously all at my own cost as my plumber wasn't going to do this for free!).

I refused and said that I would happily post the whole unit back for a replacement or else just post back the part (which my plumber had identified as having a faulty seal), but Melanie would not do this.

Instead, I have now been without any hot shower facilities for 5 days and my emails are not being responded to. My only option appears to be to return the item for a refund and purchase the product elsewhere. It is not the responsibility of the customer to prove that an item is faulty - a company should want to ensure that the products it is selling are fit for purpose. I can categorically say that I would not recommend this company to a friend (or an enemy).

Ordered a shower screen Oct 2013 using Bradford Bathroom Compacy website. Then got an email to say its was no longer available and was offered one that had some' cosmetic issues' that was in their warehouse. I then selected another screen from their website, only to be told again this one was also not available. Offered £30 discount to take the one with the 'cosmetic issue', so we did as we wanted 8mm thick glass and were fed up with delay.I had already selected my installer from check a trade (highly recommended, over 7 years on check a trade) and he started the project and the glass panel exploded before he even installled it, cutting the plumber and damaging the new shower tray and existing bath and sink. BCC response to this is unbelievable - not their issue and claim via insurance. After months of no replies from BBC we had to purchase a new shower screen, new tray and get the sink and bath repaired, we used the same installler and had no issues. We cannot believe a company can have this bad customer service. Everyone we tell this story to is in shock that they have not even refunded the screen never mind the collataral damage the screen did. Would never purchase from this company and advise everyone else not to either.

This is an email I sent today to the company. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!! 24/03/2016
    Dear Sir/ Madam

I am writing to complain about the manner I was treated today by one of the company directors called Joe. He rang me today at the time of the delivery saying that the driver has been outside my door for 25 mins. I had two builders on the site today who has just received another delivery from ' Mamas and Papas' company as I am currently 7 months pregnant. The door of my house was open as we just have a doorway painted, the builders didn't see anyone.

Joe was adamant that there are no builders in the house as his American military sat nav is showing the driver is outside my street in Lescombe Close. I was trying to explain that the driver must be at the adjacent street called Lescombe Road as it is a common mistake and our small road is just round the corner and it's cul-de- sack. The sat novs sometimes show it but sometimes do not. Joe did not want to listen to me at all emphasising that I need to listen to him.

Joe assumed I am lying and that the builders went out and the house is empty as his American sat nav is unmistakable. He said that if I do not call the builders within 2 minutes he is going to take the item back and charge me £50 pounds. I called my husband immediately as I do not have the builders number he rang them saying what has happened. They went round to Lescombe Road and fetched the driver to the right address.

I was trying to explain to Joe what has happened he said that the driver moved his vehicle from Lescombe Close to Lescombe Road. Lescombe Road is not the road I live in by the way,but Joe insinuated that I do not know my own address. He kept repeating how I didn't allow him to speak which seems to be the only skill he has learnt being a director. In the end he said he is going to take he sink back just to show how powerful he is.

I do no have to explain how stressful and appalling the whole experience has been to me as a new customer and an expecting mother.

I am deeply disappointed with this man's customer skills and being a manger myself I do feel sorry for the staff who work in his company.

Maybe in the future a driver could check the road sign as sat navs are only machines and London is full of crammed small roads and streets as every Londoner knows.

The company has a very bad reputation on MoneySavingExpert.com I wish I checked it earlier and Joe's name appears there as well.

    Best wishes,

Edyta a new and very disappointed customer

I ordered a bathroom cabinet that was IN STOCK and have just received it after TEN weeks.
In that time I have made many phone calls to this company only to be fobbed off.
They have never apologised to me and have never rang me back despite many promises.
I too have been on the receiving end of this ' manager 'Joe.
All in all this has been a stressful experience.
I can't bear to think of what would have happened if the product was damaged or faulty.
Avoid this company, it is not worth the hassle.
Please note British Bathroom Company are at the same address, and also use the same telephone number.
  • Thankfully I read these posts!

I was about to order from British Bathroom Company dot co dot uk.

When I tried to pay via paypal it showed their parent company name: Bradford Bathroom Company. Obviously trying to hide something.
