While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Just interested to learn of update to your situation.
Another point I make may be useful to you: Do not go back on the pro-active, self-protective decisions you have made in this matter - that is unless you are a glutton for more punishment of the same or worse. That person you think is weak has more power, strength and velcro-like cling than you yet know. They will also seek to draw out the situation
Also, re-direct your post immediately - they will open it and use information out of spite and vindictiveness.
Do you have Cardsafe insurance - it may be a good idea to renew all your credit cards, car keys and shopping cards and arrange for new pin numbers to be sent to your new address.
Recently I read an article that noted that just post the ending of a relationship is the most dangerous period for attacks. Just so you are aware.0 -

I agree. If I was the OP I'd cut my losses in relation to the money he's spent on her, stop procrastinating and concentrate all my efforts on getting the joint account closed and name off the tenancy. These are the only two things that will cause the most damage.
Once that is done cut all ties and ignore the nutter.0 -

What's your differential diagnosis?poppy100 -

I'm not diagnosing anything from a few posts by an amateur observer, honey! We haven't even 'met' the patient. :rotfl:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Just to add to previous posters point, you do not have to be in credit in the joint account to get it frozen. The bank will however expect you to agree to a repayment plan.
Council tax again even if you are in arrears advise them you have moved, they will then calculate what you are due to pay up to your leaving point.
Same with the other bills.
Not paying the rent is not what I would advise but having said that without the landlord agreeing to you unilaterally giving notice or exercising a break clause you may have no choice.0 -
Have you been able to surrender this tenancy with the LL?0
