Interesting that they appear to have taken less than half the full eight weeks they are allowed to respond to your complaint....could it be "trickery"?0 -

Then they said do you want to complain, I said yes I want to complain that I was unfairly sold PPI, that was about 8 weeks ago0 -

there is no offer/counter offer. They offer what you paid, plus interest, plus 8% and that's it.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Anyone else suddenly have an image of an "underworld" of people offering advice only by personal message?
If I had received unsolicited private messages offering advice about my own PPI claim, I'd have wondered why on earth they didn't simply post in the open forum.
It would have made me very suspicious of anything they said...0 -

The PM's I got were very helpful and thats just the way it is, no one was after anything from me, only giving me help, and it worked and I really appreciate it.
My case was genuine, I was missold, I called HSBC out on it and they have paid out, justice has been achieved in my book and I am happy.
Not sure why your making such an issue of the fact I recieved PM's as if its a bad thing. Same thing happened on a life insurance renewal thread I posted, the PM's were more helpful generally and again they wanted nothing from me.0 -

Your experience appears to have been different, but you're the only poster I've seen actually acknowledging such messages on the public forum.0 -
Thanks for the help and PM's guys, all paid out and I'm very happy.0
