Afternoon,
I needn't have worried about trick or treaters.....I had one lot who arrived at the same time as unexpected guests and very politely backed away and left us alone, apologising as they went.
Had not realised that there were posters on here with lupus. My mother had it and my sister has it amongst other problems, I seem to have not got that gene. It's a rotten illness and any chage should be checked out surely? Good thing to call 999 I think, and in my experience the staff on them are FABULOUS. Knowledgeable and kind.
Been to visit my son today, he's a bit subdued still, and has pulled his curtain pole out of the wall, but it may have been accidental trreading on the curtains that did it. Seemed happy to see me and let me do some of his old physio with him (I noticed on our last swimming session that his muscles are really, really tight.) which loosened him up nicely.
I also have been to do my own physio at the gym and am exhausted! Would really like a nap as have a visitor overnight tonight and there is alot to catch up on in both our lives.
Dinner will be vegetarian fajitas and for lunch i took a sandwich and banana out with me.
Lovely news about new baby, and hope they are able to get home nice and quickly.

Evening all
Hilstep - glad you went to Drs, hope you feel better soon x
Bitsy - glad you all liked Bath, it's a lovely town. Very magical at Xmas.
Today flew by in work. The 3 work kids did lots of bits n bobs for me this morning. Then I went to meet my old colleague for lunch, was nice to have a catch up. Then some more bits n bobs this afternoon. Nice atmosphere in work today.
I'm not going out tonight, I wangled a half day for tomorrow so meeting my friend for lunch and an adventure then instead. So I'm going to do some college work tonight
needs to be done as I'm away this weekend.
OS wise - WM on as I type and will dry on radiators. As it's now Nov I have given in and put the timer on for the heating! Dinner should be something from freezer, but I am tempted to go to chippy
Have a good night all

Had to phone Eon this morning, despite only owing them £22 in 12 months and being £139 in credit as today stands they have decided i need to increase my Direct Debit from £104 to £127. When i finally got through i told them that if i owe them money at the end of the settlement period i will pay them what i owe in one lump sum. The email stated the reason why the direct debit needed to be increased was because of my leap in usage which is a load of balls really as we are using less than we did this time last year accorrding to their very own energy tracker. In fact the only reason they want to increase it is because ive had to change tarrifs to a dearer one after my current tarrif ended awhile back and the cost is higher. I might be thick but i aint that thick! I cant say they were very happy (maybe they thought i was going to run off or something) but they have backed down. The Direct Debit will stay at £104. Over the next wintery months i'll just submit the meter readings and pay the extra to keep us in credit but i'll be damned if i am giving them an extra £276 a year via my Direct Debit.
BG have done this to us based on two estimated readings because their so called smart meter does not work. We have refused to pay the increased price so they have gone away to think about it and how they are going to calculate how much gas we have actually used. I explained that we have lived in this house for 18 years and have been with BG the entire time so they must have a good basis for an estimate but this seems far too complicated for them. Well because the weather was so changeable we decided to do the cinema this afternoon, and so DD and son-in-law and dgs Ben saw Skyfall, and the three little lads and myself sat and watched Madagascar3 which I found highly entertaining as we watched it in 3D.
DD can't watch 3D as it makes her feel yukky she's not good watching anything where the screen moves around too quickly for some reason. She's never watched cartoons at all.Came out of the cinema and turned my phone back on and had a text from eldest DD in NYC to say the hospital had phoned her this morning to say they have a bed for her next Thursday for her op. So she comes home Sunday night jet lagged, and has to be at the hospital at midday on Monday for her pre op checks then she goes in on Thursday morning for her op on Thursday afternoon. Her boss will be very good about it though as she is taking a cancellation to get it done a bit quicker, rather than wait until just before or after Christmas. So she will be off of work for at least a month to recover ,but as she can work quite a bit from home if needs be sitting on the sofa with a lap-top it won't be too much disruption .
I nipped up to see my DGD Holly tonight and bless her she is being a little angel and was ironing like crazy so her Mum won't be overwhelmed when she gets home. She's even sorted out an online account for the shopping so DD won't have to go shopping (she won't be able to drive for a few weeks anyway)She has been really good and I know she is really missing her Mum but I'm only two miles down the road so she can get hold of me if needed.
DGS Danny will get a bit of a shock when he rolls in tonight as I told her to put all his dried washing in his bedroom and he can put it away.I think he thinks Holly is going to do it for him but I told her No its time he started doing things for himself.(Bad Grandma:))
I can't wait for DD to be home though although its only been just over a week it seems such a long time ,probably because of the dissruption in New York and her being in the middle of it all has made me worry a bit more than usual.Roll on Sunday night when they land and I can talk to her properly.
Right I'm off for a large cuppa and a feet up
Have a good evening everyone ,We're all off to the Tower of London tomorrow via a boat from Greenwich Pier, hope the weather is dry:)
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -

To be honest, i'd rather have the discounts of the direct debit and the flexibility of being able to pay extra if and only if its needed not because they have estimated it will be needed. Why should it stay in their bank account gaining interest instead of my husbands? Anyway, rant over.
Lay in front of the fire most of the evening watching telly and trying to get warm. I'm off to bed now i think. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
