I just tried to do a virtual quote and it came up with a message saying they couldn't quote me in this instance:eek: That was Churchill - I only wanted to get an idea!
So many people get speed tickets these days. Magistrates, police, insurance brokers. Indeed the daughter of the ex boss of Swinton insurance went to jail for trying to cover for her son's speeding. I understand Swinton don't make any adjustments unless you have more than six points for speed.

Thanks, I am aware, I was simply making the point that if you are the RK you tend to get the letter a good bit before the fortnight ends.

Behave! You don't even know if you were speeding &/or were caught. Chill, there's no point getting worked up.

    Definitely under 40.

Have found this website, do you think it is safe?

    https://www.livespeedcheck.co.uk

It just says to type in your registration number and it will tell you whether or not you have anything to worry about.

I wonder if it is genuine.

When doing speculative quotes it's best to put Mr Jones at one of your neighbours address, and not to put a registration number, put a phone number 0123456789 and tick the boxes "No I don't want to be contacted" to save your neighbour's getting post.

You may not even get an NIP.
I have been through this before (but I tend to react as soon as I see them) I could swear I was speeding but never got the NIP. It could be because of the innaccuracy of speedos, my speedo may say 80mph but in reality it may only be 73mph and that is not enough over the limit to get a ticket.

So just wait for 2 weeks and see what happens.

Didn't think of that, I just filled it in with my own details, but not on a comparison site. I don't want to be blacklisted when I come to renew:o

Yeah it's safe, just type "elephant" or "google" "police" or any other registration or word you can think of into the search box and you will see that everyone was speeding yesterday.

I think I've lost the will to live ;)

You're not a mass murderer & don't even know if you've been caught....

If you were "under 40" then it's 3 points & a £60 fine, more likely a SAC! Either way it's hardly a life changing experience is it?

    Just wait & see.
