  • i bought a kite scooter and have had it repaired three times on the same fault but now my warranty ran out in october 2012 they said they would not replace it. after talking to the trading standards i found out that because it has been repaired on the same fault under the sale of goods act they said they would repaire it again for a charge of £80 what a joke will have to go to court now.

Yes, we bought a Go Go Elite from them a few months ago. If you have any questions, just ask me.

We had questions and rang both DMD and Pride Mobility and from memory, they were both quite helpful but Pride were more knowledgeable.

    Hi

TNT are delivering a Pride Go Go Elite Traveller Plus 3 to me today. Hopefully I won'y have any issues and I assume the battery will need charging before I can use it. Is the charging period a long one or relatively short?

    Thanks

From memory, I think you have to charge it for around 12 hours (could be more) for the first time.

After that, you need to charge it for 8-10 hours everytime you use it or if you don't use it much (like us, we only use it once every few weeks), then you need to charge it once a week for 8-10 hours.

Can I also just ask is there a charging indicating light or whatever?

    Thanks

There are 2 lights - a green one and a red one. When you plug in the charger, both lights will come on. The red one will eventually go off depending on how much you have used the scooter. If you have used it for a few hours then the red light will stay on for quite a while (an hour or so) but if you haven't used it since the last time you charged it then the red light will go off after a few minutes. The green light stays on all the time that the charger is plugged in, so there is nothing to tell you that the battery is fully charged so you just need to unplug the charger after 8-10 hours (I set a reminder on my email every Friday morning reminding me to plug the charger in and then another reminder in the evening to remind me to unplug the charger).

it's just arrived and the battery had a full charge! :j

I presume you don't have to remove the battery from the scooter each time you want to charge it?

No, no need to. We do as we keep the scooter in the garage and bring the battery inside the house to charge it.

Get yourself over to the Consumer Rights board. I'm sure someone on there can help you put together a letter or provide you with the advice you need to get this resolved as cheaply and easily as possible.
