Anyone made a purchase from Discount Mobility Direct?

Yes, we bought a Go Go Elite from them a few months ago. If you have any questions, just ask me.
We had questions and rang both DMD and Pride Mobility and from memory, they were both quite helpful but Pride were more knowledgeable.0 -
Any of you shopped with dailylivingaidsdirect.co.uk
Think I've finally found a rising/reclining chair for my mother at a very reasonable price in the colour she wants
So just wondered if any of you had any dealings with them and how fast they were with delivery etc.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Thanks SuzieSue. Did you get any help from DMD?
I've had to contact Pride as DMD were useless with non existent after sales service. They actually said they couldn't help as they were just the supplier!
Pride have emailed me saying they take this sort of thing very seriously and that DMD as the supplier have a duty to be of assistance to me.
They have contacted DMD and told them to ring me before 1pm yesterday...which of course DMD did not bother to do.
I've advised Pride of this and they say they will contact DMD again on my behalf.
I want people to be aware of potential problems with Discount Mobility Direct. I'll post on the Praise Vent and Warnings board too.0 -

Yes, I didn't have the experience you had with DMD, they did answer my questions re charging the battery when we first got it but the person I spoke didn't sound too sure so we rang Pride who were much more knowlegeable (as they should be).
Perhaps Pride have got fed up with answering questions that suppliers like DMD should be answering.0 -
Also, Pride should take some responsibility as the booklet that comes with the GoGo Elite isn't as helpful as it could be as we have both found.0

My first query was also about the battery. The diagram shows the batteries to be fitted in a way that was not possible. The only way they could be fitted was the opposite way round to the way shown in the diagram.
DMD originally said they couldn't help but after several more phone calls the man said it didn't have to conform to the diagram!?!0 -

Do you mean the way that the battery sits on the scooter? To be honest, I didn't really look at the diagram for it in the booklet as we had already hired one in the US so knew how the battery sat.0 -
Yes, there are two batteries and the terminals have to face outwards from the seat post. When placed like this they are the opposite way round to the diagram.0

I found the chair cheaper in DMD. :T:T So ended up ordering it from there. £410 compared to £800 in other shops for the same chair, so quite a bit of saving. And even better than the £3000 we were quoted by a salesman. It's being delivered on Tuesday. It's also made by Pride, so I'm hoping that it comes with decent instructions as I'll be trying to guide my brother into building it, and he's adverse to any kind of written instruction :rotfl:

Just a wee update on this one. Received chair from DMD today. Don't order from them if you live in an upstairs flat. Wouldn't go in lift and they refuse to take it up the one flight of stairs. Would go in the lift out the box, but they sent one man to do a 2 man job. Rather disappointed and knackered after trying to help my brother get it in the lift and then get it assembled.
Mega happy with the chair though, it's gonna be a godsend for my old mam4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
